UK people eligible to vote in the General Election
« on: April 30, 2010, 10:26:24 am »
Are you going to vote and what have you made of the TV debates, if you have watched any of them?

I am genuinely interested to know as (we all know) i am a fair bit older than everyone else and have been voting since Labour got in power back in 97.

Why is that if you don't mind me asking? Is it that you don't feel any of the main parties are representative of your views?

Get Andy to vote for you.

Have you been watching the TV debates and doing some reading of the parties policies?

Andy, what happens if the Tories get in a cut your benefits, won't you kick yourself then that you didn't vote? Last night David Cameron said he would get unemployed people to do training and essentially cut their benefits if they refused a job that they could do.

Welfare policies:
Tory: http://www.conservatives.com/Policy/Where_we_stand/Jobs_and_Welfare.aspx
Lib Dems: http://network.libdems.org.uk/manifesto2010/mini/libdem_2010_students.pdf
Labour: http://www2.labour.org.uk/uploads/TheLabourPartyManifesto-2010.pdf (page 19 onwards)

I'm not telling you what to do, just that whoever gets in power may have a direct affect on your life.

I always vote, voting is a good thing imo. Your vote is essential..

And ehh, I'm not very known with the UK policy. But heard something about the tv debates, is that guy that won the 1st round still going well?

Btw a little bit offtopic; you still don't have that UK passport moo? :(

you live in a democracy, and you're part of it. I think everyone should vote.. you are fucking blessed with the right to have your opinion.
