I actually think they should make it compulsory but add to the ballot sheet an option for 'none of the above'.

I do also agree with Ush that everyone should vote as every part of your life is affected by politics.

I'm not a voting kinda guy either, nothing against my country it's just that my single vote isn't reallly going to make much difference. My vote won't change jack shit.

Plus, lost faith in politics, it's all a load of bollocks.

If I did vote though, I would vote for the conservatives, David Cameron, I like him and his approach to a few things (mainly unemployment).

I do like my country a lot, but times are hard and things IMO have never been worse. We need change, Labour really isn't the party for me, Gordon Brown is also an arrogant fuck with a foul mouth.

I think we need to reach a consensus because any of the parties will do a better job than a hung parliament.

We've just finished a recession, and we're going to slip back into it if we don't take action. All of the parties have satisfactory economic recovery plans, but if there's a hung parliament none of them will be acted on. Look at Italy and Canada.  :o

I really don't think a hung parliament is all that bad. Some council operate on a coalition of parties quite happily. Plus maybe MP's should grow the fuck up and learn to play nicely with each other. Funny how the private sector manages to do this on a daily basis.

BTW, this is funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKFTtYx2OHc

At the moment you are right that one vote doesn't relly count depending on where you live, but at least the Lib Dem's are pushing for electoral reform so that 1 vote does count. Have a look here at Propportional Representation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proportional_representation

The way it works at the moment isn't really fair at all, and the main thing people should be pushing for is that. The Lib Dem''s want it as it is a lot fairer, and the Tory's and Labour don't as it will highly likely end the 2 party politics we have seen in the UK for the last 65 years. If it went through it would mean that it is highly unlikey the tories would ever get in power again.

For all non-voters, isn't there a option to vote "blank"?

I also understand why you don't vote, your voting system is weird :P Voting districts and stuff..

If many people voted blank they would recognize there is a error in the voting system..

I love how Labour and Lib Dem have 28% each, but Labour gets 258 seats and Lib Dem only get 84.  :D

I can see why they're pushing so hard for reform.

Well making the vote representative would help them yes, but it would also help the voters who say 'my vote counts for nothing. Well, depending on what constituency you are in it doesn't count for shit the way the current system works. The changes they are suggesting at least would mean every vote counts.

Well i am being a weirdo and staying up and watching it while chatting with friends on skype. Not the result so far i was expecting, or hoping for.
