i wouldn't call it very small, its not absolutely huge either

last image in the top comment makes a comparison

GTA SA was 36 km2
GTA V is 45 km2

so they used the underwater excuse when doing the comparison with RDR etc.

I think the size of the map will be quite subjective. Compare driving 5 km in GTA SA to GTA IV, in IV the traffic makes it really difficult to travel fast on long distances, so 5 km distance takes a lot longer than in GTA SA. This will be the same with GTA V.

I thought would have the standard 3 large cities and a large rural area. ultimately only have a great town and a large rural area. therefore i said small.

they might have referred to the last map which was also claimed just to be a fan art, this one is bit different
did it really happen few minutes ago or you found the image somewhere?

This map seems to be true because it has an innovative appearance and also only one company could build a map so detailed.

well actually it is, but not a NASCAR. It's horse racing track, named Hollywood Park Raceway, and paved oval is for cameramen who drive around filming racing horses http://www.crystalinnlax.com/img/headerImages/hollywood-racetrack-hotels1.jpg

Could be a horse race track, mind the location close to upper class houses  ;)

Also, this:

You can even see the lakes are the same in GTA V map and in Google Earth. This track is probably based on Hollywood Park Racetrack. Why would you build lakes and stuff into a NASCAR oval?  :D
