I know i have a very small chance of getting unbanned, but its been a month and i really learnt my lesson and have no mods at all other than car textures.

he's being totally honest with us here, he could be a total dick and join under a new name and it's likely we'll never know since his has a new ip and range.

I'm not willing to unban him right away.. maybe in a couple of months but not now. I really appreciate it that he tells us, and we could unban him for being honest to us.. it could be a good example for other people. Just some writing of thoughts.

i wouldn't say lamp post mod is hacking though

just slightly bending the rules to make the game a bit easier

just because it's not your typical press a button to get a speed boost hack that doesn't mean it's in any way more excusable. it gives the player a big advantage, just like hacking, and involves editing game files, just like hacking. bending the rules is replacing your elegy model with a bmw or something like that then never racing in any elegy races..

Instant ban offences:

    * Speed hacking
    * Teleport hacking
    * Weapon hacking
    * Surface mods

^ We should just replace all four with cheating of any kind, since "cheating" generally means gaining an unfair advantage (whether through mods or hacks). I don't like how the mentally is "hacking: banned for forever" but "mods: ban for months" even if both can be forms of cheating. IMO they should be the same e.g. both for forever or both for months.

if we were to make the rules clear and say from now on, it's lamp mods = ban, i don't think that'd it be unfair to ban someone who used it after the rule change, but banning someone who used lamp mod while the situation was lamp mod = warn would be unfair.
