Title: Movie editing software?
Post by: [MAF]Jur1z on April 16, 2012, 12:02:59 pm
Is there some good free video editing/converting software except Windows Live Movie Make?

And is it worth to buy this one?

Virtualdub is often usen when you have a movie and wants to increase quality and smoothness then later on add it to vegas to make it smaller size

That's because you've saved your video file as the "uncompressed" (that's the default setting in the programm). In the upper menu press Video, then Compression. Choose the compressor from the list, for example WMV 9 or DivX, then press Configure and mess with the settings a bit. (Article with the pictures (http://maketecheasier.com/how-to-compress-a-video-file-with-virtualdub/2009/05/31))

I don't know what you exactly need but I love Camtasia Studio. There are some easy and useful things. You can add captions, text, effects, work over stuff you just recovered with this program, cut, split, change audio, add whatever else and many more. If you want to make some simple vids it's good tool. There is one problem tho. It's designed to send it at first to YouTube for example. I still haven't discovered a way to save videos (.avi) on HDD. Maybe it's because I always use it to YouTube videos... It allows you to save .avi when upload fails so I guess just turn off internet connection.  :L
