Could be some badly optimized game code causing fault in system, any message appear after restart like memory dump or some?
Give more info if you are about to get proper help

Edit: i found this with the similar problem http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f15/pc-shut-off-while-playing-portal-422655.html

but i dont have massanger installed for years
stoped using hotmail last year since it was hacked and blocked
last month i was able to unlock it, but i had to add alternative email, change password and even confirm with mobile phone or something.
and it was fine, clean of spam and unwanted websites
i only loged in to hotmail about 5-6 times since unlocking
did not send any mails just checked for spam massages and how many emails i get.
and it was fine i just had emails from Evga and 2-3 other official websites.
i dont use any massanger
all i have its google chrome and deamon tools
im wondering do those massages got something to do with my pc.
like virus is using coockies to acces and send emails or,
its send by hackers programs from other computers and my pc got nothing to do with it.
EVERYBODY WHO HAVE "malysz333@hotmail.com" IN CONTACTS
PLS DELETE! I WILL NEVER LOGIN TO THAT ACCOUNT AGAIN.
i will format C:\ this week and never login to that account

in win7 screen of death appears when system overheats, so it might be a cooling problem

maybe something is wrong with my overclock
did it myself, maybe someone can help?
-
Seems too much overclocked, idle temps on each cpu core are too high for my taste and you are closer to limit which is 90-95 depend of motherboard.Possible your cooler on CPU is full of dust or just weak(1400RPM) to keep normal temp range on 4.2GHz ....Which cause BSOD
-
About the dust, if it's not done already try to check well and not just the dust that you can see directly when you open the PC unit. Few days ago I got the GPU off because it was always overheating and very noisy, reached 90°c without gaming, and I saw there was a block of 2cm of dust in it, the fan was absolutely useless as the dust blocked the air from it, and it was turning faster for nothing.
But those mail spams sure aren't any dust...

too much overclocking will cause a BSOD. from experience :P

Noticed from the doubleyou records
-
what about voltage?
-
increase it but the heat will rise risking more damage
-
Too high if you ask me but probably you couldn't reach 4.2GHz without that.
Here is good explanation http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i7-920-overclocking_11.html
In fact, frequencies around 3.8GHz are the most widely spread maximum for Core i7-920 CPUs overclocked with air coolers. This is the conclusion we can make judging by our test results and basing on the feedback from the first users who purchased these processors. By the way, the engineering sample of the Core i7-920 CPU that we also have in our lab demonstrated the same overclockability. Even with the Vcore increased to 1.4V it overclocked only to 3.8GHz.
My advice is to try with lower voltage and for sure with less overclock which will result less temperature....And probably avoid BSOD

talking about overclocking, where i need go to overclock my CPU? AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850e 2.5 GHz
Its now 23 °C, when playing games its goes up to 35-55 °C

NPT fid Control = CPU multiplier
NPT vid Control = CPU voltage
None of these pictures help you, probably you have Gigabyte motherboard so press CTRL+F1 and you will open secret meny.
Then you will be able to overclock CPU...

nothing happens when i press CTRL+F1
my motherboard NF-MCP61 (Socket M2 )

That is it,CPU frequency 200.Try with 220-230 that range always success. If you want more you must lock frequency of your RAM cause with overclocking processor you overclock RAM too and HT.
But am not suggesting you some extremely overclock cause your motherboard is low end budget.
Don't be lazy google is full of overclocking tutorials and pictures how to make.

Searched on google but nothing useful for my PC didn't found
also i want to overclock my NVIDIA 512MB GeForce 8500 GT (MSI). where do i find this in my BIOS?
-
I finished Portal in 4 hours last night haha. I started playing when I wanted to leave for bed, but didn't stop before I finished the game :L
-
Haha :L i cant finish it, when i start playing my PC shuts down after 2-15 minutes, so cool
-
Video card have nothing with bios, everything goes trough system mean overclock. There are many useful software but that 10% of overclock wont help you much 8500 series isn't capable to make something impressive.
You can try with Riva tuner but keep on mind you doing all that on own risk
