just got my laptop back from service, but they forgot to install the audio driver and now i have no sound at all, tried finding the driver on the net, but the official link to download it is broken(Conexant Audio driver (http://support.dell.com/support/404.aspx)). does anyone knows a solution to this or i should probably wait till the end of the weekend to get it back to servicing?

For sound driver we faced a problem related to conexant sound driver in winxp sp2(DELL Vostro A840). Conexant sound driver is not working. Once i install the audio driver the system replys cannot find the media device. Again we goggled it, and found a solution(mentioning below in steps to apply the solution).
1 remove sound driver (if installed )
2 Download driver sp32646.exe ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe
3 then download sp34386exe ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34386.exe
4 install both of them(same order)
5 then install this http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R192894.EXE
6 then install this http://ftp.us.dell.com/comm/R190098.exe
7 restart your computer
HOPE THIS HELP
