Title: 5850
Post by: [MAF]Vertigo on August 01, 2010, 04:10:10 am
Is the ATi 5850 sufficient for new games atm?

I'm gonna be getting a new comp and the 5850 is $100 less than the 5870.
I know the 8570 is quite a bit better but if the 5850 can run new games
on good settings then I might roll that way.

Discuss.

Because you not own beast in your PC,in middle and low segment both brand are ice cold.
5850 is really great card but don't forget you will not get much if your processor and motherboard can't address info between them(old models)Be sure you have enough good PC to run that beast of card

Sorry mate you took me wrong just telling that we are not lucky to own high-end components which is sad.But as you know i am working in IT so sometime have chance to test high-end models to see where are they now.To be honest am fine with middle segment cause you still can playing all games with almost all on high settings for double less money.
ATI 5850 is great card no doubt but there is something about people usually not talk, but i have experience with PC components almost 7 years
Trying suggest Vert to not make wrong turn with that video card if other components especially PSU is weak to proper run whole machine.
Sorry again if you misunderstood my suggestion :-*
