Any car owners got any tips on what to look out for?

Looking at insurance considering i live in central London with only on street parking i will be getting a 1.1 or less as my first car.

What are good and what aren't? Also, what should i ask and look out for when viewing cars?

I am buying a 360 Elite this afternoon, mainly for film/DVD watching and Guitar Hero.

Shame on me. (£199 with CoD:MW2 and Forza 3 is too much a good deal to pass up).
