Thanks for all your posts!

I have selected a few which I really liked:

Quote

Quote
"You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?" - Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci - Goodfellas)

Quote
"You're gonna need a bigger boat"
Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), Jaws (1975)

So, right now I got 11 quotes, maybe five more or so, and I'm ready to go!

Hello folks,

I recently started doing some bookbinding as a hobby and now want to start a small project. The project consists of unusual quotes being illustrated (nice fonts, cool backgrounds, merged together, etc.) and then printed and binded into a hardcover book. Since I dislike all those hipster-inspirational-deep-shit quotes (see examples), I want to take a different approach and use unusual quotes from films, games or interesting people, it might not be that serious of a content. I have already collected some, but I need at least 12-20 to actually have enough content for a book. Quotes should have an author (game character, film character, real person etc., not "unknown" or "old chinese saying") and have "one line" (game quotes tend to need situation explanation or are more a conversation, which makes it harder to illustrate).

You can find the ones I already plan to use inside the spoiler:

Alright, I’ve been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these?! Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man whose gonna burn your house down – with the lemons!

I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the street, and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it.
We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!

We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy.

It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we're living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."

Well, I'm not going to leave you alone.

I want you to get mad!

I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot. I don't want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street.

All I know is that first, you've got to get mad.

You've gotta say, "I'm a human being, goddammit! My life has value!"

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell,

"I'm as mad as hell,
and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"

This is where you might help. If you know any cool quotes which might fit my criteria, feel free to post them. I would be happy for any help!

Only thing that might have changed between these two sessions is the new gta settings file which is created with first start.

It is under My Documents/GTA San Andreas User Files/

You can try to delete it and then join again, the game will then create a new one.

There were two protests in the Cologne. One of left wing people, one of right wing people. Both protesting the sexual attacks on new years eve. Somehow, only the right wing protests started attacking the police.

Oh, and just yesterday, 250 right-wing pegida demonstrants trashed a neighborhood in Leipzig. Because thats the way to protest refugees doing illegal things.

I hope you do realize that the last picture from Cologne shows right-wing extremists from the "hooligan" fraction "protesting". And by protesting, they mean starting shit with the police because, well, they like to start shit with the police (just one year before a right wing protest group trashed half the city).

First of all: Google hacked?  ::)

And second: What is so offending about "If god wills it"? As Wikipedia tells: "[...]expressing the speaker’s wish for a given future event to occur, especially in a Muslim country or Islamic context."

Also, Google translate is known to have varying quality of translation results.

And basically, on the last posts on the topic of the attacks: People need to realize that the attackers were all people born in France/Belgium, they weren't immigrants. And France is having a huge problem with the following generations of algerian and morocco people who live there for a long time. Because the politics neglect them and right wing parties fight their public fight on their backs.

This is not an excuse, but one of the (many) reasons this happened.

I find it quite disturbing how people (even in this forum) tend to ignore the bigger picture with its many reaons and ways and just focus on the easy (and sometimes wrong) facts.

Let me tell you a story.

I had a Voodoo. I spent literally hours searching for one which had a worn out all over rust-red color. This is not very common, since the Voodoo has a 2 tone color setting, so getting one with an all over paint job is kinda rare, but getting one with a certain color as all over paint job is nearly impossible. You can't just get one and paint it in red, this changes the gloss and texture.

I finally found one some weeks ago. I spent around 120k on tuning, but left the color untouched, to get that special "rat look". Nice chrome rims, dark tinted windows, but fucked up rusty (non-glossy) red paint job. Awesome car. Even random players kept asking about the car because they hadn't really noticed the game having such a "lowrider" model they liked the concept of a rat-look tuning.

Then the lowrider update came. And I drove said Voodoo into Benny's garage.

I wanted the lowrider option, and ONLY the lowrider option, which means the hydraulics. I carefully read every info available, evaluated the decision, all info just said "prepares car for lowrider options". Then I spent 240k for the lowrider customization on my already 120k worth car.

Big mistake.

The rusty paint was gone. Suddenly, it had a perfect matte red painting. What. The. Fuck.

To me, the car was ruined. All additional parts looked ridiculous to me, as I wanted a "cool" car, not a "cheap pimp" car. A 12 year old probably likes the flashy cheap bling bling you can attach, but the concept of a rat look lowrider was now impossible. I sold the car. For 100k.

This is the story of "How to burn 260k $ in 10 minutes".

(Although, after this, I bought the Willard Faction and made it into a lowrider, spending around 850k. At least, now I have a nice car to use when looking for a Voodoo again...)
