hmm, if i remember well he used explosives to break cables.(an elevator isn't a bullet . not as hard , a big explosion would destroy it and an alevator isn't as hermetic as gun)
1) No gravity, but there is still air which would brake the elevator cause of air resistance : does the elevator slowed down ?
2) Gravity + air does the lift accelerate ? (until it reach max speed because of air resistance )
