Well im using XP and i have installed it smoothly, and had nothing troubled.
What i did is; as another example.
* First i copied my folder, it was GTA in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas folder, i just copied into same spot and named GTA United.
*
* Installed first download, which is 280 mb by just selecting GTA United folder in destination.Tested the game, it was running fine.
*
* Installed hotfix, then tried again with no troubles.
*
* And at last i have just installed the Multiplayer Client, like just installing SA:MP client.Theyre same.Selected GTA United folder in selection window and fiuw its done.

I have Vista 64 bit, which is probably why it won't work unless it is run in a compatibility mode.
