Abuse of the "unfrozen start" bug
« on: June 25, 2008, 03:06:17 pm »
I've seen more and more players unfrozen without a car at the start of a race. Almost everyone runs past the first on the grid as far as they can and spawn a car in the middle of the road when the race starts. It can either give them an unfair advantage or mess up for others since he's blocking the road. It's a bad thing to do but also very understandable since it's so easily possible.

Can this bug be fixed?

What's can be done best if you see this happen?
A problem is the time limit. In about 3 second you, as admin, can't do much to prevent a car from being spawned in the middle of that road. Best chance is probably punishing the person with /cj before he spawns a car since kicking takes more time to type, but you don't have time to explain.

I suggest a temporary, short and easy command (like /ab ID) which would teleport the player to a position where he doesn't block others (maybe jail) and explain to him what he's done wrong and what he should do in such occasion (or to the whole server so it'll be done less). Maybe some info for bugfixing could be included (userinfo like ID and version).

I've banned agu who kept abusing (every race) and ingored what I did and said to him.

you should kick people the second time you see them do this and ban the third (after warning of course). as for fixing it, that is rac3r's problem :L

well the first time they might not know about our 'no bug abuse' rule. the 2nd time you kick them to really let them know that it is not allowed at all and the third time it's obvious they aren't going to listen ;)

Hmmmm.
Players use to be grided when race was just starting. I could try to bring that back I suppose. :-*

it's the one thing that enoys me more than anything even when ppl push there cars, is when they run as far in front of the grid and spawn a car, c'mon they know it's unfair they shoulden't need warning really
