Mine is just as bad, and I can't do a thing about it :( wires just aren't long enough. But great PC you have there.

I would replace my case but i hate taking CPU coolers off the CPU. sometimes taking the CPU cooler off the CPU can actually pull the CPU out at the same time along with bending the pins... my biggest fear!

There is plenty of useful programs who easy show you condition of your processor.
To be honest i seriously doubt that your processor is damaged,if any of millions transistor is dead cpu become unstable and start show random errors,most known is BSOD.
Lag in games comes if CPU is overheated or running on high temperature 80C or more which result drop speed on half or more to protect possible burn hardware

Pins are fear no doubt,but if you got intel you wouldn't be scary
