Awww, what a bad bug.

Do they still work? (like, run the application).

This usually happens if the directory of the app changes (very rare).  Or the drive letter changes, from C to E.

Tip:  Delete all of the START icons, right click on the working icon, click ADD TO START MENU.  Deleting them all, should make them reset and the list should start filling up as you use the applications.

Weird.

Got virus software?

I see, quite a big problem then.  Possibly a registry error (guess).

Got AVG.
My Uncle had Norton, try malwarebytes.  It doesn't run in the background, so it won't conflict with AVG.  Just install, update and scan.

avira is quite good and free, if your fine with pressing ok on premium ads once a day then its good choice(the suggested way to turn them off doesnt really work)
