Hello friends. I re-booted my computer today. Bought san andreas of Steam, but it seems I cant install samp for some reason. After downloading it and pressing "accept" on terms and conditions, the "install" button just stays grey and unclickable. How do I solve this?

You need the 1.0 version of GTASA for SAMP, Steam gives you 3.0

You could still install samp even if you have the wrong version though.I think the problem is that the game is not installed in that directory,Steam games are usually in this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.

Thanks! But now another problem has stepped forward. I get this picture when I try to join the server

Find gta_sa.exe,right click on it and click properties-->compatability and then set it to Windows XP(Service pack 3),you should also make sure that run as administrator is ticked. If it still doesn't work you should try setting compatability to Windows Vista(Service pack 2).If the problem persists try ticking 640x480,i doubt it would make any difference but it could be a resolution issue

Tried everything, nothing worked. Starting to get really frustrated now. Been cursing infront of my computer for almost 2 hours now.

i've heard that Gta : Sa and samp have some troubles running on win8/8.1
Maybe going back to windows 7 can solve the problem.

Actually they updated the Steam version recently. Try this

It didn't work either :(

Not sure if this helps, but I am just thinking along: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1336083
Or maybe this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=escBf2eoGcE&feature=youtu.be
Also, do you have the latest SAMP version?

Tried that aswell, without any luck.. And I have 0.3z version. Wich I believe Is the most recent patch?

It didn't work either :(
Make sure you run the downgrade program on an unmodified copy of GTASA (ie. run Verify Integrity of Game Cache in Steam before the program)
-
Rockstar already updated SA on steam and ughh pretty much the downgrade will fail.

It says it cant be installed because I have a unknown version of gta_sa.exe
-
Finally! Got it working by verifying game cache and remove all the previous modifications, downgrades and patches and doing it all over again.
Thank you people for your dedication and devotion in helping me!
