NASA said it will only know two hours before impact where it will land – and even that prediction will only be accurate to the nearest 6,000 miles.

Title: Re: News topic
Post by: [MAF]Jur1z on December 01, 2011, 08:44:40 am
no they want to legalize russian as second official language in latvia

e.g. street names in russian, in passports you will see your name in both languages, in schools you need to learn russian language (previously you could choose between german and russian),....

Is this serious? Illegal to speak a language? How retarded is that?

lol Vertigo and FF. It is illegal as official language, which means you can't make official streets signs in Russian, passports in Russian etc.. Ofcourse you can speak it, but you can't use it as official language. So all official paperwork has to be filled in the legale language(s), not in any other 'illegal' language.

Post by: b00tsyou on December 01, 2011, 03:21:30 pm
The most common process leading to language death is one in which a community of speakers of one language becomes bilingual in another language, and gradually shifts allegiance to the second language until they cease to use their original (or heritage) language. This is a process of assimilation which may be voluntary or may be forced upon a population. Speakers of some languages, particularly regional or minority languages, may decide to abandon them based on economic or utilitarian grounds, in favour of languages regarded as having greater utility or prestige. This process is gradual and can occur from either bottom-to-top or top-to-bottom.

anyway, linguists think that when less than 4 millions people speak a language , it gonna die by itslef. (Latvia population-2010 estimate   2,245,357[1] (143rd))
So , it's sad , but it seems that it's a lost battle :(

thats not really true, they got enough signs for voting to be made, not won the voting.
thats a HUGE difference.

still its a horrible argument "Russia is the best" that they say.
then move to russia, or stfu

and really all this is is just a government decoy to talk and make fuss about unsolvable problems instead of fighting against crysis and solving real problems.

Why is that funny? Would you like it when the government told you it is forbidden to eat cake or drink cola?

Weed isn't bad.. it is just the governments who act crazy because OMG THE LAW SAYS ITS FORBIDDEN! And why?? Because it enlarges people minds, to think outside the box?

Do you ever realize how many it cost to make the police hunt weed? THAT WILL BE BILLIONS!! And why? Do you ever hear about people who use drugs and make trouble? Alcohol makes way more trouble.. Why is it forbidden to raise a plant, or several? And to smoke it? And then relax? And think about nothing? Or just very deep things? Inside your house.. without harming anyone? Why?

Think outside the box and you start understanding that you don't need to take all for granted.

Peace.

No!
They know more about it then anyone else, and from scientific way prob. more then we can imagine.
I`m not saying smoking weed everyday its good because its not.
Like Drinking 3-4 beers everyday.
But it should be also available for medical purpose and a lot, lot other things, even fuel.
Illegal weed we get on the streets its full of other crap.

The thing is its a money maker, "they" let ppl make the drugs, even help them in some cases (like providing weapons for illegal drug farms in Mexico)
then they let them move the drugs easily on the streets.
So after they have a clear right to take them back and all the money.
That`s how it works.

Everything started long time ago:

"Reefer Madness (originally released as Tell Your Children and sometimes titled as The Burning Question, Dope Addict, Doped Youth and Love Madness) is a well-known 1936 American propaganda exploitation film revolving around the melodramatic events that ensue when high school students are lured by pushers to try "marijuana" — from a hit and run accident, to manslaughter, suicide, attempted rape, and descent into madness. The film was directed by Louis Gasnier and starred a cast composed of mostly unknown bit actors.
Originally financed by a church group under the title Tell Your Children, the film was intended to be shown to parents as a morality tale attempting to teach them about the dangers of cannabis use."

Government made movies and videos about marijuana making it look bad. So its stay illegal and provide Billions of Dollars every year.
They made marijuana scary on 1930`s.

Classic american anti-marijuana propaganda.

I think it has something to do with Michael Jackson's family making a claim.

Sony has had a good relationship with Rockstar and still does today: the PS3 is the leading platform for GTAV, so I doubt very much they themselves have made the move to block Vice City.

That said, Karlip is still right: C.R.E.A.M., get the money, dolla dolla bill y'all.

Meteorite of a satalite?
Title: Re: News topic
Post by: [LSR]Cypher on February 16, 2013, 04:16:52 pm
The media tells us that it's a meteorite. If it is a satellite, then the owners would be in a very big trouble because of injured people and destroyed or damaged buildings. But I don't think it's a satellite, because imo falling satellite won't cause such destructing soundwave while entering the atmosphere.
Title: Re: News topic
Post by: [MAF]Karlis on February 16, 2013, 04:21:12 pm
scientists estimated it to weight 10t and be few m in diameter, there are no satellites that big afaik, plus satellites wouldn't have that big of a force when entering atmosphere, and they should totally burn out before landing.

Probably will be a meteorite then. But media always lie.

Heard about the 50m big meteorite that just didn't hit earth last night? It was 'only' 28.000km away, if it hit earth it could destroy a whole city.

And yeah tradition.

Well I guess, cause they're head of state, that's their ONLY real job probably is to represent the country.
Spend some tax for their lavish life style
also if you were in their position as a monarch, I'd doubt anyone would want to step-off unless your life is threatened

Any other job the head of state ever had are taken away.. they only represent the country, and yeah they cost a lot. But they also bring up some money, maybe more than they cost.. who knows.

To go into this discussion at a higher level.. Today the 'economy' is the main subject of our lives, which I think is totally wrong.. everything orbits around the economy and money making.. while it'd be way better to care for eachother more and just 'be human'.

Rockstar will publish GTA San Andreas for mobile devices:

Interesting:
Quote
Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been upgraded for its mobile release. Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.

I don't think so. To me, a flat hard screen can never beat a physical controller in any way. No matter how great the games were I played on my phone, the controls always pissed me off, cause you are basically blocking your own sight.

It may be possible to play the games on phones regarding technical requirements, but these will never be a fully enjoyable game experience, they will always be more like a nice gadget when you have to wait for the train or smth. like this.

I don't think so. To me, a flat hard screen can never beat a physical controller in any way. No matter how great the games were I played on my phone, the controls always pissed me off, cause you are basically blocking your own sight.

It may be possible to play the games on phones regarding technical requirements, but these will never be a fully enjoyable game experience, they will always be more like a nice gadget when you have to wait for the train or smth. like this.
Phone-brain interfaces will solve that.

Not a news but not funny either so I will write it here. I am just curious and scared at once if in your countries people are also so unwilling to help anybody. Today I had to travel by bus and one man fell down on his head smashing into some metal part of bus. Head crashed, problems with breathing and head injuries making him unconscious. 40 people watching what's going on, some younger guys didn't even bother to take off their earphones (listening to the music). I'm like what the hell people, everyone just screaming for SOMEONE ELSE to call the ambulance instead of doing anything. So I immediatelly took out my phone after I saw guy not moving and called the ambulance. Took them like 3 minutes to arrive fortunately.

I am just scared now if something would happen to me or my family noone would ever help lol. They may think I am drunk or something. It was like 11am and many people, what would happen if that was evening with like 10 people in a bus. I don't know if people are just scared because of dangerous situations or do we really live in a world of "i dont fucking care".

So I'm just wondering... Is it the same in your countries? Or is it bit different? Maybe whole world is like that but I just realized.

Something like this happened to me, too

About a year ago, on full train riding home from work. I was sitting in the middle of the coach with earphones on, I notice something happening behind me, take earphones of and lean into corridor and look back. See woman laying flat on stomach at the other end of the coach, unconscious, 20 people right next to her ignoring/watching what just happened. I get up with other woman and run to her, asking bystanders (still sitting) what happened. They say, she came up the stairs and just collapsed. Woman shouting through coach for a medic/doctor, to our luck someone actually gets up and runs to us, being a medic. Medic tells me to hold up her feet while he checks her, other woman running to find conductor so we can get an ambulance at next stop.

Medic says she has some sort of shock and needs certain drugs, we can do nothing, so the two of us carry her (around 100 kg) to the next exit, still people just watching and not helping. Next stop we carry her onto the station platform, waiting for ambulance, conductor is there and stops train.

Luckily, the ambulance arrived just a few moments later, check her, and say it is nothing serious (she still being unconscious), she just needs some drugs and fast treatment. Medic and me get back into train, people who just watched everything are now taking photos of her laying on the platform. Medic asks them why no one helped, they say they didn't know what to do. Yeah, I didn't have a fucking clue what to do either, but at least I cared you dicks.

I was disgusted from what has happened there and felt miserable about this for a few days, cause not knowing if she got well again. Later realized, not everyone will help you, but the few people who will help, will care enough. Let's just hope there will always be a good person right next to you when you get into (medical) trouble.

I was involved on a similar situation a year ago, but it was totally different to what you all described. I was taking a walk with a friend of mine when suddenly we saw a guy lying on the pavement. It was a common town street, so it's pretty small. Despite of that, everyone around went quickly to see what was going on: his wife crying and shouting, a guy (who I would say he had some knowledge) came from his car parked and started to check the man while a woman crossed the street, took off her sunglasses and bent down. Both of us (my friend and I) took our phones and called 911 (emergency number in Spain) without looking each other nor realizing a woman on a house balcony was already talking to an emergency operator saying: "he has fallen, he's on the floor, blood is coming out of his head...". We stayed there for few minutes, all the people getting closer to the guy and even a man offered his car to drive him to the hospital, but from all of a sudden the guy raised his head very confusing, asking what was going on, her wife still crying. He seemed pretty surprised and frightened when the ambulance finally came and we kept on our respective ways.

Ebola is scary

Hmm not really, ebola is just media with its typical sensationalism, there's a lot more infectous diseases that cause many more deaths but they don't talk about it (although the thing with ebola is that it has a higher mortality rate than most of them, I admit that)

Example:
AIDS: As of 2012, approximately 35.3 million people have HIV worldwide with the number of new infections that year being about 2.3 million, and 1.6 millon people died from AIDS in that year.
Malaria: The World Health Organization estimates that in 2012, there were 207 million cases of malaria. That year, the disease is estimated to have killed between 473,000 and 789,000 people.

Ebola: As of 22 September 2014, the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local governments reported a total of 6,405 suspected cases and 2,984 deaths (3,546 cases and 1,757 deaths having been laboratory confirmed)

But you can't really prevent Ebola in a way you can prevent AIDS/HIV (condoms) or Malaria (pills). Touching eachother (a hug or handshake for example) is enough to get Ebola. And once you have it.. it's worse than AIDS/HIV I think, or at least it leads faster to a death. And malaria (once you live in the west) is easy to cure.

Ofcourse I know the media makes ebola bigger than it actually is. But imo that is due to the above reasons.
Title: Re: News topic
Post by: [MAF]Agus on September 25, 2014, 08:16:58 pm
True, what I meant was that, even though it's more deadly and harder to prevent, it's not that half humanity has ebola, like the media (at least some) make it sound like :p

lol we'll look like the agressive hillbillies that once attacked them in the USA now

''Jeremy Clarkson and his Top Gear team were forced to flee Argentina and abandon three high-powered cars after they were pelted with stones by locals angered by the presenter’s number plate apparently referencing the Falklands War.

The crew of the BBC Two show had earlier been given an ultimatum by Argentine veterans of the war to leave the country or “face the consequences”.

They had provoked anger by using a 1991 Porsche 928GT coupé with the registration number H982 FKL, which politicians and army veterans suggested could be seen to refer to the Falklands conflict.''
(War was in 1982 and FKL = Falklands, in case someone wonders)

It's interesting to see the massive ammount of things I'm seeing about this on internet, and 99.5% of the comments I read are against Top Gear. The problem is that people here don't see Top Gear (In in fact I am the only person ''I know'' in real life that watches Top Gear, or even knows what it is), so they probably don't know that they do these kind of things with every country they go to. Plus, of course, we are not exactly the most civilized country on earth :'(

I see no reason for drinking 95 % alcohol. It doesn't taste great, it just basically fucks you up in a few minutes.

Drank absinthe once a few years ago, you just get wasted in around 10-15 minutes, from sober to "oh my god, I need to lay down". Sounds hard, but if you consume such stuff knowing what it is, you should be careful. And if you aren't careful, things like this happen.

The percentage of radicals in that 1.6 billion is so small. I doubt there's even 100,000 radical muslims in the world. Regular muslims don't associate themselves with radicals. They would be crushed if they tried to start a world war.

Probably the BBC butthurt bitches won't do anything though, Top Gear is one of the most viewed shows around the world, and if Clarkson goes, at least 50% of the people who watch it will stop watching it. I don't think they want that. They're gonna have to suck it up.

EDIT: After reading comments in the social media I'd say that if Clarkson goes at least 85% of the people who watch it won't do it anymore.

well this is not the first time when he is suspended. I can give 99% that Hammond and May wouldnt continue it alone and leave the team on their own. Top gear is basically standing on Clarks head, he's the show.

People should be careful calling BBC for bringing Clarkson back.

There is a difference between hurting people with words, or hurting people with your fist (assuming the rumors are true he hit a producer in the face).

I like him and the show a lot, and it basically lives of the rather dark humor, but a public television company can't put a person on air who committed a crime.

If you shouldn't give airtime to people who commited a crime then why are some people given airtime?

On the other side, when I hit someone with my fist on work I would get fired anyway.

Top gear is over, BBC won't renew Jeremy's contract :(

In case anyone wants to read what was said:
“It is with great regret that I have told Jeremy Clarkson today that the BBC will not be renewing his contract. It is not a decision I have taken lightly. I have done so only after a very careful consideration of the facts and after personally meeting both Jeremy and Oisin Tymon.

“I am grateful to Ken MacQuarrie for the thorough way he has conducted an investigation of the incident on 4th March. Given the obvious and very genuine public interest in this I am publishing the findings of his report. I take no pleasure in doing so. I am only making them public so people can better understand the background. I know how popular the programme is and I also know that this decision will divide opinion. The main facts are not disputed by those involved.

“I want to make three points.

“First – The BBC is a broad church. Our strength in many ways lies in that diversity. We need distinctive and different voices but they cannot come at any price. Common to all at the BBC have to be standards of decency and respect. I cannot condone what has happened on this occasion. A member of staff – who is a completely innocent party – took himself to Accident and Emergency after a physical altercation accompanied by sustained and prolonged verbal abuse of an extreme nature. For me a line has been crossed. There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations.

“Second – This has obviously been difficult for everyone involved but in particular for Oisin. I want to make clear that no blame attaches to him for this incident. He has behaved with huge integrity throughout. As a senior producer at the BBC he will continue to have an important role within the organisation in the future.

“Third – Obviously none of us wanted to find ourselves in this position. This decision should in no way detract from the extraordinary contribution that Jeremy Clarkson has made to the BBC. I have always personally been a great fan of his work and Top Gear. Jeremy is a huge talent. He may be leaving the BBC but I am sure he will continue to entertain, challenge and amuse audiences for many years to come.

“The BBC must now look to renew Top Gear for 2016. This will be a big challenge and there is no point in pretending otherwise. I have asked Kim Shillinglaw to look at how best we might take this forward over the coming months. I have also asked her to look at how we put out the last programmes in the current series.”
And lol @ the BBC wanting to ''renew top gear for 2016''. Good luck with that, no one's gonna watch it

I already heard that some moderators from Britain have denied replacing Clarkson. We had a similar situation in Germany with a big show, the new host was talked down again and again until they quit the show. Same will happen with Top Gear.

Wonder what Captian Slow and Hammond will do, right after the accident they said they wont do the show without Clarkson...

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Although unless the new channel is known and ''powerful'' like the BBC, it won't be the same, since they probably won't be able to get the same cars they can with the BBC, or do the same stars in a reasonably priced car, or the same trips. It'll maybe look too ''low budget'' compared to BBC :-\

Well, as far as I know, current concept was Clarkson's idea.

Previous Top Gear form was casual auto-program about technical stuff. Clarkson 'invented' current concept and form of show. BBC only gave money and materials to make his ideas take course.
http://www.bild.de/video/clip/porsche-918/porsche-rast-in-zuschauer-42896448.bild.html

Looks like poor planning of the event itself, making people stand behind plastic barriers around 10 meters from high speed race track with cars dodging obstacles.

@MadMax: Linking the brand of the car to the death itself is kinda wrong on many levels.

The examples you used:

I probably could make the same up about Ferraris or other sports car brands, yet it doesn't tell anything about the brand, but mostly about the drivers.

Fun Fact: That's what actually happend about self-driving cars in America.

They had a testing phase with car driving around in a city, technicians on board, tweaking the code on the fly. After some time passed, the first statistics were published. Next day, media published headlines like "Self-driving cars already cause 100 accidents!" and "First people injured after self-driving cars ran over them".

What they kindly forgot to tell is that the majority of the accidents were cause by people rear-ending the self-driving cars, which were waiting at a traffic light. And the injured people thought it would be fun to jump in front of the cars to see what happens (hint: you get run over. just like jumping in front of every car).

In the end, the statistics conclusion was that yes, self-driving cars can cause accidents. But given the low number of cars driving and the short amount of testing time, compared to existing statistics about accidents in the US, the self-driving cars were much less likely to have an accident.

More terror attacks in Paris. The borders are shut, France has declared state of emergency, military forces has moved into the city. A couple of coordinated attacks has taken place, shootings killing multiple people, bombs going off killing even more. There is also information saying that 100's of people being kept hostage at a opera hall.

This is probably the biggest terrorist attack in Europe since WW2.

Here is a live stream the concludes the attacks and keep updating with information as we go.

Terrorists attack in France.... hmm without reading anything more, I'm 99% sure they are islamist extermists.

Before any shitstorm comes, I wanna to say I don't care if they are muslim or not.

To be honest I don't mind muslims as long as they try to live in peace. Problem is very small group do that, maybe 30% of them tends to learn new culture and respect. Rest is on middle-ages level, but not extacly.

Not every muslim is terrorist, but almost every recent attacs were caused by muslims.
They aren't just terrorists, they do not take hostages to get money or other usual terroristts ideas. They just spread pannic and mess all around, without clear reasons.

It's not like they take hostages and want million dollars for this... no they just shot randomly all around without bigger terrorists ideas.

Before anyone tells about miiddle-ages christian crusades. Yes they were, but, back in time, this was open war any everyone was aware. While these islamic terrosris are acting like fucking rats, cover and attack civilians. They got no balls to say open war and face their army against our (european countries) army.

If they want 'holy war', no problem, just let them clearly announce it and our well-trained and equiped soldiers gonna send them back to stone era. Stand and fight instead attacking civilians and brininging mess into areas that are/were peaceful since 70 years.

EDIT: I won't answer and argue after this post

First of all: Google hacked?  ::)

And second: What is so offending about "If god wills it"? As Wikipedia tells: "[...]expressing the speaker’s wish for a given future event to occur, especially in a Muslim country or Islamic context."

Also, Google translate is known to have varying quality of translation results.

And basically, on the last posts on the topic of the attacks: People need to realize that the attackers were all people born in France/Belgium, they weren't immigrants. And France is having a huge problem with the following generations of algerian and morocco people who live there for a long time. Because the politics neglect them and right wing parties fight their public fight on their backs.

This is not an excuse, but one of the (many) reasons this happened.

I find it quite disturbing how people (even in this forum) tend to ignore the bigger picture with its many reaons and ways and just focus on the easy (and sometimes wrong) facts.

NOT RELATED TO TERRORISM

think on long distance

immigrants arent problem now, we can take them... but what later? they gonna reproduce and increase mulims amount in any european country. and if we take them now, there is gonna be something not right to get rid of them when situation gets sable

you know their kids gonna grow up and get own kids... european marked gonna go down and almost whole west european culture gonna be fucked up. for example Germany is now still strong player, but in 20 years, when 60% population gonna be non-working muslims, they wont make earings and country gonna turn into shithole. no country earing = no free money for socials = riots and mess = making middle-east style mess in EU

unless they go strictly after.

if things in Siria get back, then we would have to force them back. this would be extremally critised later, but only sensible option

And France is having a huge problem with the following generations of algerian and morocco people who live there for a long time. Because the politics neglect them and right wing parties fight their public fight on their backs.

They weren't, but their parents or grandparents were, same shit. And what do you think, why do France and Belgium (and maybe UK) have that problem and other countries like Poland, Greece or Hungary (for example) don't have?

you know their kids gonna grow up and get own kids... european marked gonna go down and almost whole west european culture gonna be fucked up. for example Germany is now still strong player, but in 20 years, when 60% population gonna be non-working muslims, they wont make earings and country gonna turn into shithole. no country earing = no free money for socials = riots and mess = making middle-east style mess in EU

That's because they just don't fit in Europe and individual cultures of each country. Instead of adapting to the culture of the majority, they will, probably by force, insist the acceptance of their culture as an equal one - and then the situation will be up to no good. Unemployment factor isn't that much important, immigrants usually think and act the same way anywhere and anytime, no matter if they are jobless or not.

if things in Siria get back, then we would have to force them back. this would be extremally critised later, but only sensible option

If they don't like it here in Europe, they can always freely go back. Nobody forced them to come here, they have done it on their own will (or maybe there are other reasons of which are we not aware).

Trouble, unemployment is actually probably the biggest factor, aside culture diffrences.

Read carefully. I m gonna use Germany as example as it is best to do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Situation now:
Germany is one of main countries in Europe, with leading incomes and generally good working industry and business.
Germany is full of people in productive age, working and paying taxes. Taxes paid allow germans to have big social care and refounds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Situation in 20-30 years future, if hypotetically muslim take more or less 40% population:
Germany isn't stong anymore. Mostly of immigrants (who were accepted and let in in 2015/2016) have many kids, who have another loads of kids. They do not work, only are on social care.
Overal amount people in productive age is reduced. Less people work, so less people pay taxes. Less taxes paid, lead to situation where country budget isn't that big as before.
Social care and other refounds are taken from constantly decreasing budget. Goes like that for few years. At some point taxes income isn't big enough to make sure social care and other refounds be keep on. Social is decreased. People who were on it, are getting angry. We talk about huge amount of people. At some point social is so low or totally taken out. These unhappy people masses go out on streets, demand getting social back. Government can't do it, coz country budget isn't enough for it. People co crazy and start riots, they say they are threaten bad and so on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of main problems with immigrants. Not terrorism, coz it can be done by anyone.

Look on example of USA, it was made mostly by immigrants, but due to lack of social care, they were forced to start working.

The only right choice it to take immigrants, BUT do not give them any financial help. They have to work their stay here, not just comming for money.

As You said, such situation isn't big problem in Grece, Poland, Hungary and so on. Thats coz we have extremally low money offered in social care.
There were group of immigrants we helped them here. They had home, food and basics to live. You know what they did after 2 weeks? Escaped to Germany.
They were totally save here, coz no war all around, but just not enough money given. One of them, when found out he is gonna be located in Poland, said that "if this is case, then I'mma back to Siria/Turkey". Some escape war, agree but mostly just go to rich countries, thats all. Grece, Italy, Hungary or ex-soviet block isn't intresting place for them. They aim Germany, France, UK or north, scandinavian countries - Norway, Sweden.

Your situation development prognosis looks like Germany will become a dystopian society lol. Well, that's one of the scenarios how things would progress, but there are also other possibilities. It is a big factor actually, but not the key factor + the absence of unemployment in immigrant population (as if they all have jobs) could be counterproductive. Natural born Germans could lose their jobs in favor of immigrants and then the tensions would rise quickly. I think that state of the union primarily depends on how would immigrants and their culture get accepted by native population and vice versa. If both sides are much different in many ways, living in the mutual community will last short. This is not how would I want it to look like, these are the facts based on similar cases from history (in case someone gets butthurt about my opinion).

This is one of main problems with immigrants. Not terrorism, coz it can be done by anyone.

That's probably true. But you see, that's the catch actually. They emigrated from their homeland and immigrated into some country with hopes of achieving a better life for themselves and their families. If they didn't get what they expected from the country in which they immigrated into, why would they rise some protests/revolts/rebellions? You can't be like: "Hey, I immigrated into your country and now you have to give me everything I ask for". WTF... You have to be thankful for even getting accepted there and not dumped out. That's why I said, they can always come back where they come from if they're not happy.

Look on example of USA, it was made mostly by immigrants, but due to lack of social care, they were forced to start working.

It wasn't due to lack of social care, it was due to beginning of industrial era. Europe and USA both transferred from agriculture (as their primary source of funds) to industrialization about at the same time, so technically, European immigrants who expected to live better in the USA got 'tricked' because at that time USA was just following the steps of Western Europe.

The only right choice it to take immigrants, BUT do not give them any financial help. They have to work their stay here, not just comming for money.

Agree.

As You said, such situation isn't big problem in Grece, Poland, Hungary and so on. Thats coz we have extremally low money offered in social care.

No, it's because of the fact that these countries aren't multicultural nor there are chances that they will be such in a close future.

Some escape war, agree but mostly just go to rich countries, thats all. Grece, Italy, Hungary or ex-soviet block isn't intresting place for them. They aim Germany, France, UK or north, scandinavian countries - Norway, Sweden.

thats how they act, they go from place to place and if something isn't like they want, they demand to be done.
they do not respect other countries laws or culture, they demand to be done like they want, thats all.
Look on Sweden, where they want to take control on whole areas

whereever they go, they force own culture without respect to original country culture
they force women to wear these shits, and if they refuse, then call them offensive and provocating.

for example they took over a london park and forbidden to take dogs on a walk here
(http://www.dailystormer.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Parkwarning_thumb.jpg)

As You said, such situation isn't big problem in Grece, Poland, Hungary and so on. Thats coz we have extremally low money offered in social care.

No, it's because of the fact that these countries aren't multicultural nor there are chances that they will be such in a close future.

u'd be suprised how multicultular they are. in poland we got russians, gyspies, people from turkey, ukraine and so on, just multicultular but mostly christian or christian-related ones

as I said, I'm not aware of terrorism, coz thats no matter who, always can happen. I'm aware that they force their culture whereever they come.
just listen what Ex-muslim guy says. keep on mind that his choice made him put on deathlists for islamists
it's old video from 4 years ago, but a lot of what he said, it absolutly true

But the difference is that in Poland 95% percent of population considers themselves as Polish, while those you named are just small minorities.

btw. in that video's description, it says "...HOWEVER, the monstrous, dangerous, murderous religious sect called Islam represents an enormous threat to LIBERTY and to the the freedom loving citizens of the CIVILIZED WESTERN WORLD..." - while we can argue what is exactly the "western world", it seems that the uploader think that "eastern world" countries like Russia, China or Japan are not civilized... and that's ridiculous.

Western world is West Europe, USA and so on. Areas where we got freedom or at least big amount and feeling of it. Noone is obsesed with their points of view, and noone forces anyone to belive something.
China and North Korea lacks freedom, almost everything is limited or banned, Russia kind of too, Japan and South Korea are tootally diffrent case. They are outstanding to anything.
There is also India but compared to advanced West, they are far away.

I's not just capitalism, they also ban culture and entertainment

China got almost everything banned or censored. DVD/Movies or music is almost not distributed, 90% files are pirated, coz can't legally be bought. In additon Chinese have shitload of censoring and fucking up shows, many movies aren't shown and artists are avoiding China, and if they somehow do, then get this:

Megadeth ended too soon

movies also are banned, for example Pirates of the Caribbean were banned

they just do not allow anything, this is from Chinese guy on some music forum.
Quote
I live in Shanghai, China, Maroon 5 and Bon Jovi were cancelled because of political reasons, M5 wished an old man happy 80th birthday and BJ had an offensive image in one of their videos (this was helpfully sent to the authorities here by Taiwanese BJ fans!). Metallica weren't allowed to play Master or One. Megadeth weren't allowed to play Holy Wars, with the authorities at the last minute banning songs. I spoke with the promoter who said that the authorities had big problems with the image of Rattlehead*! The problem is that officials here are quite arbitrary about what songs they don't allow, The Rolling Stones weren't allowed to play Brown Sugar but could play Satisfaction. Muse recently changed their setlist.

A lot of concerts here aren't confirmed to quite close to the show, Megadeth was only confirmed about 6 weeks out. There is still 5 months to the possible shows.

The 2 Metallica shows here were fantastic huge buzzing atmosphere beforehand. Crowd really loved them, band had big grins.

Metallica sold about 25,000 tickets in Shanghai over 2 shows, Muse 10,000 (7,500 in Beijing), Bon Jovi's concerts in Beijing and Shanghai had stupidly high prices and so had been selling terribly before their "convenient" cancellation, Megadeth only 2,500 in a venue which holds 9,000, Slash had a 1,100 tickets sellout in 30 minutes, Avenged Sevenfold only did about 800 tickets, Coheed and Cambria (not kidding) the promotor was letting Chinese in for free as they had sold less than 100 tickets! I saw The Scorpions at a festival earlier this year about 100 miles from Shanghai and there were 20,000 kids who knew the words to all the songs, very weird!

Taylor Swift is playing 3 concerts in Shanghai this week (all sold out, saw her last year she put on a good show), the shows were almost cancelled because Taylor launched a clothes line over here called TS 1989, harmless enough (her initials and year of birth / album title) but for historical reasons ... well it didn't go down well. Katy Perry did 2 shows (saw one, good fun) and some locals got upset that some of the colours used during the concert meant something political. Alas, some performers like Bjork and Elton John have come here and shot their mouths off on stage about things they shouldn't talk about so gigs then get shelved. We have had a number of Swedish Death metal bands pass through they who have hadn't problems with their lyrics.

Very difficult to buy official music here, everyone downloads for free! I tried to buy the new rather brilliant Def Leppard album as a download from Amazon.uk they wouldn't allow me so i downloaded for free, doesn't make sense.

they try over interpreting anything and link everything to politicy, best example with that Swift, seriously, having trouble with TS 1989 name?

* Rattlehead is Megadeth 'logo' kind of, it's based on "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"

Sheeeit that's awesome you should make a movie about it, it'd be like new MadMax movies. I'm even sure Mel Gibson would love to star in it, he'd be the Sauerkraut Warrior or something. 100% would watch. Blockbuster.

A little different situation but still fitting..

It's kind of sad that people who wish to demonstrate and express their justified opinions about what's happening in their country have piles of shit falling on their heads by the authorities who seem to stand against them rather than behind.

Sweden has recently released information into the media what's been really happening in their country for more than a year. Internet censorship is worse than ever before, the freedom of speech is disappearing.

I wonder how long people are going to accept the dictatorship of EU and their commisioners and members of the parliament, who are poorly threatening them by cutting off their funds if they don't do as they say. I wonder how long this is going to last before people will take it into their own hands, and it feels like something really interesting is going to happen soon. Because this can't last forever. :blank:

Events in history repeat themselves.

I hope you do realize that the last picture from Cologne shows right-wing extremists from the "hooligan" fraction "protesting". And by protesting, they mean starting shit with the police because, well, they like to start shit with the police (just one year before a right wing protest group trashed half the city).
Title: Re: News topic
Post by: [MAF]Cthulhu on January 11, 2016, 10:38:27 pm
I know it was them who were attacking. But the actual protests were organized by PEGIDA, which is only a political movement as far as I know, and the water cannons were used on them, too. And people such as patriots and women who are against sexual harassments and assaults aren't extremists in my opinion. That term is used way too much anyway, almost everyone who doesn't agree with the government is called an extremist or a radical. It's the same in our country, don't worry.

Anyway, you can't just expect people to stand back and do nothing. The sunday attacks were caused by such people because nobody else would have the guts to do so. And that's what worries me, that it might be a start of something worse. Because majority of people, I dare to say, share the same opinion in the situation.

There were two protests in the Cologne. One of left wing people, one of right wing people. Both protesting the sexual attacks on new years eve. Somehow, only the right wing protests started attacking the police.

Oh, and just yesterday, 250 right-wing pegida demonstrants trashed a neighborhood in Leipzig. Because thats the way to protest refugees doing illegal things.

UK votes to leave EU. Maps of results:
by region
(http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/139/583/ddf.jpg)
by age
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ClsFTYkUgAERBxJ.jpg)
It looks like elder people that live outside the big cities voted for leave and apparently won.

I'd like to know a couple of things here:
1. Can anybody tell me if living in UK before joining EU was actually better than it is now? I just don't understand why people chose to leave. Has anyone got a first-hand experience with people that voted against? Why they did so?
2. Also, what is so special about the eastern part of London? Are there more rich/poor/native/immigrants/etc. living there?
Title: Re: News topic
Post by: nero on June 24, 2016, 12:37:24 pm
There was a nice chart, which compared the voting by age to "time you have to leave with this decision". Old people who just don't give a fuck about future voted for leave, young people who have to deal with the results for decades voted for remain.

About first question: I doubt anybody in this forum could have experience first hand. EU was founded 1993, but originated from other union agreements much earlier (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union#Structural_evolution)

About second question: Don't know for sure, but I know people working in financial related jobs or trade and export would've voted for remain. Same for immigrants. Maybe people with these criteria live there.

I like to add:
Disregarding if this decision was right or wrong, what David Cameron did was just pure careless. At first, he started the talks about referendum to calm his OWN political party because he doesn't achieve enough, and then tries to hold them back when they are actually going for it. And guess what: Now that shit is boiling, this guy decides to leave his position in October, right in time so some other poor soul has to deal with the negotiations with the EU about the leave.

This man is just a coward to me. A blatant opportunist more interested in his own success then the future of his country and fellow countrymen.

Edit: Found said infographic:

Nice chart, thank you, but I still don't get something. The people aged 25-49 y.o., that most likely do not have their future as secured as people aged 50+ have, still voted almost 40% for leave. I don't get why though. Just yesterday I bought pounds with the purpose of selling it after the poll results. I though staying in EU was pretty straightforward decision that people would definitely take. I have no idea what did I miss and just want to understand it better :D

About first-hand experience question - I meant if any of our UK players spoke with parents / older relatives  / etc. about why they voted to leave. Thanks for the link, I thought EU appeared in 2000s, didn't know about the previous agreements.

Seems lots of people just wanted to vote against the "establishment" because they're angry. Many now even regret that the vote was successful because they only voted to leave as a protest vote.

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/i-really-regret-my-vote-now-the-brexit-voters-who-wish-theyd-voted-to-remain-a3280361.html

Regarding the age differences, the oldest people miss the Empire and think Britain is still a superpower, the young people mostly like immigration having grown up with it, and the middle aged group have seen cuts in public services like hospitals and were told that immigrants were to blame for this. Of course, that was a lie but they'll only realise that in a few years.

Saladin announces that he is a vegan (http://classicalartmemes.net/saladin-announces-vegan/)

Quote
Saladin, the first sultan of Egypt and Syria and the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty, called a press conference earlier today to inform the world that he is coming out as a vegan. The Muslim conqueror said he recently became a vegan after dating a vegan woman who opened his eyes and helped him gain enlightenment.

Saladin has sworn to promote a vegan lifestyle across Egypt, Syria, Upper Mesopotamia, the Hejaz, Yemen and other parts of North Africa which he controls. Starting from next month, all corporations operating in areas that Saladin rules over will be subject to paying a 10% vegan tax.

In addition, the Sultan will also require all citizens of his empire to take a mandatory annual “foliage test”. The foliage test seeks to ascertain if the subject has eaten enough leaves and vegetables in the past year. Test subjects who are determined to have low concentrations of leaves in their bloodstream will be subject to public flogging.

The Sultan has also, by executive order, fired all members of his administration and replaced them with Peta activists. One Peta personnel, James McDicking, who is infamous for rescuing 30,000 fishes from the sea and bringing them to land (where they died from dehydration), will be the Sultan’s new chief of staff.

In response to critics who accused Saladin of “growing weak”, the Sultan fired back, stating that real men are vegans:

“The stereotype of male vegans being weak needs to be dealt with and put to an end. Real men love animals. Whats the point of conquering new kingdoms if you don’t treat their animals right? As for those who claim that I have been “pussyfied” by my new wife, I just don’t know what to tell you. I am the most alpha male on the planet right now, Just check Forbes’s list of “Most Alpha conquerors on the planet” I have never done anything that has ever put my manliness in doubt”.

“You have been caught on camera sticking a dildo in your anal regions” one of our reporters retorted nervously.

The Sultan took a moment to respond.

“Uh.. well…. um.. yeaa… um.. yea whats important to note is that what happens in a man’s bedroom is between him and his God. I don’t think my love for dildos, regardless of which part of my body I place them, is a valid receive to question my manliness. This press conference has come to an end. CUT!!! CUT!!!”.

On a completely unrelated note, our journalist responsible for asking the dildo question has been missing all day and his family members fear he may have been assassinated.

Anyway back on topic, "regular" phones had been released and bought in the past years too, they just never got any publicity considering the consumers who'd buy them knew they simply wanted a phone, not the extra features that had been added in the past years. There'll always be a market for regular phones, not only old people, but also people who'd like a secondary phone, or who don't give a shit about cameras and internet access on their phone. Even now a lot of smartphone users mostly use the social media on their phones, and don't even need a new one every other year.

A very big sad day for Malta...
The most unique beautiful scenery has disappeared...The weather has destroyed it.
Gone but never forgotten  :'( :'(

See, if people continue to ignore the warning our planet gives to us then something like this or even worse will happen.

Mankind got nothing to do with it. Sooner or later it would collapse anyway.

Our prime minister bought a front page of yesterday's newspapers for his electoral campaign for president. Yesterday was the last day of campaign and now it's pre-election silence until the elections on Sunday.
