Suggestions / Saving diffrent rims for each diffrent car type?

How about making something like /vcc but with rims?
I mean, saving diffrent rims types for diffrent vehicles types.

For exaple, gold 'Switch' in Sultan, but 'Classic' in Voodoo.
Leaving Infernus on it's stock (chrome 'Access'), but put 'Offroad' in Rancher, etc...

Sad to see so little ZR 350 races or Jester/Uranus compared to other sportcars.
Quite suprising is ridiculus low amount of Blista Compact, while it's nearly same counterpart (Flash) is several time more often used

Help & Resources / Unstable fps on HD 4650

hi, i got a litte problem

well my old good 8600GT died, so had to take spare card bro bought while ago (HD 4650)

in theory it got better specs than 860GT, but in game it is rather unstable
(8600GT 256, HD4650 1024)!

example on DoubleYou
8600GT reached 92-93 fps (/fpslimit 90) and 96 with off
HD 4650 giives olny about 70-80 there (/fpslimit 90) and same values with off
moreover, in one worlds or sk where 8600GT used to give me playable framerate (60-70) this one drops to partetic 25-35 fps :S

any ideas whats wrong with it? got any good drivers or helpful tools?

This could be useful for someone, maybe helps in making races/selecting vehicles for it, or just general having fun with SA.
Anyway server got huge lags while I'm typing this, and I'm bored, so enjoy.

List contains vehicles that got special abilities not common for every other, let me know if you got more.

italic - only for single player GTA SA

Ambulance - can be used for ambulance missions
Andromada - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle, can open rear gate and carry many people.
AT-400 - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle

Baggage - along with Utility Van, can tow airport trailers
Banshee - best accelerating road legal RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) car
Bloodring Banger - got no doors or glass windows, you can hop in it through window frame
BMX - jumps, that can be used to access intresting areas or low rooftops

Broadway - can be used for pimp missions
Brown Streak - along with Freight, can be used for train missions
Bullet - lowest vehicle in game, along with Kart, can be used to access low areas (SF airport tollgate or LV rocks, fences etc), road legal RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) car

Cabbie - along with Taxi, can be used for Taxi missions
Caddy - almost always gets back on wheels after every flip
Clover - along with Previon and Feltzer is only car that has speedometer on dashboard
Coach - cops can't arrest you by opening doors
Combine - can cut people
Comet - if it is empty, player hops in it without opening doors
Cop Cars - fastest 4 door car,
can be used for police mission
Cropduster - pressing 2 allows you to spray pesticides

Dozer - movable scoop can be raised and lowered, can climb very step hills, got rear axle turning
Dumper - movable bed

Euros - only vehicle with glass sunroof

FCR-900 - along with PCJ-600, fastest road legal bike
Feltzer - along with Clover and Previon is only car that has speedometer on dashboard
Firetruck - along with SWAT Tank, can 'fire' a stream of water,
can be used for firetruck missions
Flatbed - fastest normal truck in game
Forklift - can be used to lift or raise crates, people or vehicles, got rear axle turning
Freeway - can be used to access Area 69 military base

Freight - along with Brown Streak, can be used for train missions

Hotdog - you can buy hotdog from parked one
Hotknife - only fully custom hotrod in game
Hotring, Hotring A, Hotring B - the fastest RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) car
HPV-1000 - can be used for police missions
Hunter - fastest helicopter, fire rockets and gunfire, can be used for police missions
Hydra - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle, can move vertical or 'freeze' in air, fire rockets and flares

Infernus - fastest car and legit land vehicle in game

Kart - lowest vehicle in game, along with Bullet, can be used to access low areas (SF airport tollgate or LV rocks, fences etc)

Leviathan - along with Sea Sparrow, can land on water

Monster, Monster A, Monster B - along with Quad, doesn't slow down on railroads (can keep top speed, unlike mostly vehicles), wheels can't be popped, both axles turning
Mountain Bike -  fastest bicycle

NRG-500 - fastest bike, best accelerating and (with bugging) fastest land vehicle

Packer - got movable ramp, can be used to access areas
PCJ-600 - along with FCR-900, fastest road legal bike
Premier - fastest normal 4 door car
Previon - along with Clover and Feltzer is only car that has speedometer on dashboard

Quad - along with Monsters, doesn't slow down on railroads (can keep top speed, unlike mostly vehicles)


Ranger - can be used for police missions
RC Bandit - along with RC Tiger, got no collision, making it 'ghost mode vehicle'
RC Baron - aling with RC Goblin and RC Raider, can fly in unlyable for normal planes and helicopters, areas or heights (for example Liberty City)
RC Goblin - aling with RC Baron and RC Raider, can fly in unlyable for normal planes and helicopters, areas or heights (for example Liberty City)
RC Raider - aling with RC Baron and RC Goblin, can fly in unlyable for normal planes and helicopters, areas or heights (for example Liberty City)

Vortex - can be used in any area, land water and air gliding

ZR-350 - headlights pop-up in night

example: NASCAR[DAYTONA] is now DAYTONA_INTERNATIONAL_SPEEDWAY and so on

Hi, this tutorial will not contain basics, as they are already well explained there:

This time it's all about advanced race making and techniques.

Making good race is easy:
Correst settings + correct checkpoints = good race, as we all already know, but how about getting into higher level?
This guide will explain and show how to make good race to be great* race, so let's go!

*correct settings + good placed checkpoints + suitable vehicle + nice details + nice name + intresting route = great race

ADVANCED BUILDMODE TUTORIAL:

  • Race name
    [spoiler]it's a very important part of race, but many people ignore it and/or do not take care there.
    Of course You can name race any You want, but here few hints:
    • Try name race to reffer to race itself, for example Super_Jumps would contain jumping intested of flat roads all the time, ye?
    • Using capital "i" and lower case "L" letters isn't recommended - they can be swapped and someone can 'steal' your name but with diffrent letter, example "Illinois" can be used many times with other combinations of "L" and "i", like iLLinois, LIIinois etc etc...
    • It's highy recomended to do not use player's names, as we know, times go by, peaple come and leave etc... sometimes race with someones name will be outdated if that person leaves SA-MP
    • You can use direct vehicle name or some more subtle hints, for example: you can hint players into vehicle that gonna be used in race, but not directly naming it. It can be either playing on words, like "Take A Dump" which is term used when you go take shit, but also may aim into vehicle, Dumper (naming races like that is very Rockstar Games style thing - we know their sense of humour); another example is in picture bellow:

      Primal_Fear is very good name for a race, it got few meanings, also it can gently suggest what vehicle gonna be used, but secondly, Primal Fear is a music band, making it great choice for audioimport race.

  • Time and Weather
    [spoiler]there are diffrent weather conditions in game, somehow most part of races are in clear sunny weather at day times, many peapole are either forgetting or just affraid of using other weather possiblities.

    For example, in north San Fierro it's good to use fog weather, as it gives nice in-game feature - ship horn, that can't be expirienced anywhere else. Such details are a nice touch to your race and definetly make it more advanced:

  • Checkpoints size - showing correct way

  • Checkpoint placing - correct placement
    [spoiler]very important, always try to place cp in way where there is no risk of missing it while cornering - you should be focused on track, not worried about checkpoint counting or not. Belive me, it's VERY ANNOYING to miss cp while cornering, place them as shown in this video, to avoid this VERY NASTY situation:

    it's nice to have few options to pass part of race

    one of the most common annoying parts in races - not-needed turns. They only increase race time, showing authors lazyness or lack of track length/timing skills

    Looping is a repeating same part of race without reason (only in A-to-B sprint races, not in lap races) and it's recommended to avoid it

    sadly, this is rather common in races, and it's annoying, what is more - it shows author's lacks of memory or track designing skills, can also point that race is random made without any planned ideas; if you wanna make quallity race, in advanced designed races, it's recommended to avoid unnecessary "looping"

  • Suitable vehicle choice - size

    use vehicle that got correct size, suitable to your race - don't use big vehicle in tight areas, or bad cornering cars in twisty tracks

    as we can see in video above, Infernus got trouble in that narrow turn, while Mesa pass it easly

    Bikes aren't only restricted to roads, thanks to their small size they allow you make race in areas where cars got no access

  • Classic Nitro

    Classic nitro, once fired lasts for several seconds, then needs some time to reload for next use

    Nitro duration is around 20 seconds
    Nitro reloading is around 55 seconds

    Make sure Classic Nitro race is long enough, races shorter than 1:15 won't allow you to use nitro more than once.
    Try design Classic Nitro race to feature roads with speedlimits, where nitro is most helpful.
