One thing I do fear...its a small chance of this happening, but what if someone wins the race just before the NASCAR championship race, and gets extra points for having a win streak?

I did finish 14th, was 11th til some douche racing backwards rammed me in the last few laps.

Maybe for some reason, the server took our position at different parts of the race

Can't we at least try it for one event first rather than be so fucking negative about it? I just don't like how I keep hoping that some noob crashes into someone ahead of me so I could catch up, it gets boring. Nothing bad about trying.

I think, we can try draft in All-Stars race (May 21) because that race doesn't give points for general, so no-one would be harmed.

Talladega is the biggest track with long straight and i think drafting may help make this event more interesting and even more fair

ok, firstly i will test drafting in normal race with 5 laps. i will add it to event if i see it is working well (because as MadMax said, someone would be harmed). map is almost ready

Everybody are behind each other in the start.. How will it work.. the one who starts first has huge disadvantage then..? But yea, need to first test it with many players before actually adding it to an official run.
I think it makes it too easy to pass another car.. fighting for a position would look like... racers would switch places every 15 secs lol.

That's the point of NASCAR especially in Talladega. You never know who's gonna win. It all comes down to aggressiveness and strategy.

Something like put the drafting on first after 3-5 laps if thats possible?
But slipstream battles would be cool. But im also afraid it wont work with these high pings. But we should definetly try it :D.

lol69 was kicked by dev, due to wrong id... any ideas what should be done now?...
Since I was mistakenly kicked from the track by one of the admins moderating the race, still having a great chance to achieve good position and getting sufficient amount of points to get close to the leader

Unless some admins want to volunteer to not participate, I think it would be fair if there was some sort of rotation system so that at least 2 admins can moderate the race each week?

the spectators should kick all guys joining the race after the start. I mean all those noobs and guests who have no idea a race is going on.

Maybe the idea of locking the server will be forced. Otherwise, as said b4, there's no point in signing up.

What if those who need points get left out by someone who is just there to mess about but doesn't get kicked/banned?
Locking is best chance atm, and easily removeable.

I have another idea... You admins can ban/tempban/kick all noobs manually and then start the race.
Cromiell did that few times before some races, as well as he did moderate during the race.
In one of the races (cba to find which one), he and Phobos did great job moderating.
If the server can't be locked, then why not give it a try. But instead of admins racing server cleaner, tempban whoever needs to be banned.
Btw Nikki is doing good job, but I have to say that isn't as good as old Zak.

Server was very laggy, this could be due to the PitStop code. Maybe it needs optimising.
200 Laps is too much, 100 laps seems doable for the majority of players.
Few glitches possible with /NC, they need sorting for next race.
If we say what's wrong, things might change for the better. Anyone else have any queries about the event?

Yes, there needs to be a rule in how many time there is left to finish after the 1st finished, cause there was no rule this time and that lead to.. well we all know.
But on the other side that won't be such a problem if the races get shorter than 2,5 hours lol..

I can imagine the wait, even 20 minute races have us all waiting an extra 10 minutes.
My net died on about lap 6, fell in the water because the objects just failed to appear for me. My fault, bad internet.

Btw, I have a suggestion.
We are giving points for finishing the race.. but we could also give a small amount of points for the qualifying. I don't know what the points for each place are now, but I can imagine we give the top6 point for qualifying. But I need to know the pointsystem before I can really give an opinion about that!

Changed the Pistop code, it now works on vehicle basis, rather than player.
Hopefully quicker, I'll run a test this dinner time.

Ok, double post, but this is great news.
Bug: Players could exit vehicle, if timed right, they could spawn a new vehicle.
Fixed: OnPlayerExitVehicle, I added a very simple function : ClearAnimations(playerid). Now, it seems impossible to exit the vehicle!
We have to make next race less laggy and fix the glitches, we're getting there.

Me and Max won't make races not full distances this season. It has been already said. And I will try to work our some more rules so it will be more fair to late guys or something... Maybe 110% rule or something...

200 Laps is too much, 100 laps seems doable for the majority of players.
not always are 200 laps, laps varies from track to track
Daytona 500 got 200 laps, but other tracks may got more/less
aually it is all about distance from 300 miles to 500 or 600, so check nascar officaial page to see number of laps

It just depends per track. Daytona is a (big) oval so takes long. smth like martinsville is kinda small do takes less time, u have more ramming on smaller tracks tough

nobody is forcing you guys to race a full length nascar event. you choose to join on a sunday afternoon to race it. if you all hate the length so much then don't sign up or join the sunday when it's active. it's once a week for 2 hours or so... i'm sure you can find something else to do on a sunday afternoon for 2 hours. some of us actually like the full length event but others hate it and that means the people who like it have to suffer because the people who dislike it won't find something else to do while it's active

Indeed. Only around 5 races from 36 will be longer than 2 hours. Other races are even to 45% shorter.

What are you views on Lap storing? For example, if your car fails (timeout, out of fuel, die, over the fence) you are allowed to start from your current lap?

Daytona had 2.5 mile long and 200 laps, that gives 500 miles
Talladega got longer track, but less laps, 188 laps
Martinsville and Bristol got for example 500 laps, but 1 lap is 5 times shorter than Daytona lap
Dover got 400 laps and Texas 334 laps
short track = more laps, longer track = less laps

Still need to find a way to stop players leaving their vehicle. Currently, when you exit your vehicle, your doors are automatically unlocked. I wonder if I remove the auto-unlock, we'll be loved inside our vehicles? I doubt it, but I'll try find out.
Can we run a Daytona 500 race again this afternoon? Really want to see if the lags improved. Thanks.

Done.
Were more checkpoints added? a > b > c won't be accurate, because a > b for example cuts a thrid of the track curve off.
Hopefully fixed spectate bug showing night time instead of day time.

Added /fuel to get a players fuel count.
2nd attempt to fix spectate time bug, hopefully nailed it think time.
Bugs:
TV doesn't work as it should with such a large distance from each CP.
Split time glitch when player is about to change lap.

We are using official NASCAR system. If we were giving points for qualis it could be messy.

that is 1st = 43, 2nd = 42 ... 43th = 1point

Server requests:
Temperaraly removed a few features for todays Nascar, it might help the server stress.
Split times/Ranking/Laps still have a few problems, please use 1 > 3000 cps instead.
Even more checkpoints, this won't ruin the race.. it will help and speed up the get player position function.

I couldn't see fuel lane, but it was there.. I could refuel, just had to guess where.

The pit was much better this week.
Just a shame about the HUD stop error we had. A influential member of our community has sent me a fix, seemed to work this morning (Need a server full to test it fully).
Still feel more checkpoints would be a benefit to players and server.
