Have any ideas?
I have a simple one, pay for rims at start.
When You have rim selection at start of race, make it so have to pay for the ones You chose.
If You chose, for example Ahab, You pay $1000 while seleting, if You don't have enough money, got message:
[ERROR]You don't have enough money! or sth like this.

It would be great if the money accrued in the game could be added to my real world nectar points.

Also, if you have to buy tuning parts and rims and paints, you have to win races
so collecting money for tuning would be another motivation to wining races.
1.Reset everyones money to $10 000
2.Win race = $3 000, 2nd some less , 3rd less etc
3.Spend some money for:
-paintjob
-bodykit (spoiler, bumpers, hoods, etc...)
-rims
4.Win some more races to gain more money if you spend all.
5.Try your gambling skill to increase money.
If needed values of every parts, i will check them and make list.

anything that could give you an advantage to other racers who don't have $$ should stay free imo ( /f, /vr, /nc, /sos ...). It would be almost the same as cheating or bug abusing... just that new players will get pissed off and leave.
Rims, /tm to cost money is a good idea imo (would need to add the price near the name of the rims)
entering in /buildmode should cost money too imo, and getting a race deleted to cost money too?
weapons in /myweapon, or fighting style to cost money too? and same for /myitem.
Pay for the buildmode licence test.
And about the prices, make the same price of rims or hydraulics than in transfender, and try to make money not too easy to win.
Name changes should cost money, and quite a lot imo, so people won't change name too many times.
Maybe a low entry fee when trying a race in /TT ?

bit too far, I meant only tuning (bodykit, spoiler, rims paits etc) for money, all rest free

well about the buildmode and changename, it's mainly so people don't build loads of shit race (though i noticed there aren't many new races these last weeks? many buildmode licences removed?) and think twice before trying to make a race. Same for changename.

It's sorta pointless IMO cuz if you earn so little money (like 100bucks each won race) then you wanna spend 1k and more for only one race? It's disappointing to waste your hard earned money like that...

Ok I have the best idea for spending money ever.
BETTING
/bet [id] [amount]
/exacta [id] [amount] (first two finishers)
/trifecta [id] [amount] (first three finishers)
/bet2 [id] [position] [amount]
etc.
Odd's I suppose could be worked out by the certain players finishes per the races they
have competed in during that stint on the server?
e.g, Player 1 has finished his 5 races on the server so far 1, 1, 4, 2, 3 so his odds will
be around $1-$2
Player 2 has finished his 5 races on the server so far 15, 10, 27, 17, 22 so his odds will
be around $50-$100
(just throwing numbers around btw don't know much about betting lol)
I'm sure this could work, just need someone who is good at maths to figure it all out :P

Well why not have options instead making everything free for all :) If you make it, its a must to keep the finish number down below so many people can get money and do something, like till 20th or so.

you would have to be pretty sad to exploit betting like that haha
but yeah, 20+ players for sure and a bet limit as well would be necessary.

Lottery..every half hour or more a number between 1 and 90(example) is extracted at random(I think a bot could do this) and everybody can try to guess using /lottery [number] and get the whole jackpot.. /lottery has a fixed cost, can be used once per extraction and jackpot keeps raising if nobody wins..

I just think money is useless, what are you going to do with the money you've won from betting? Just consider it a score of sorts? Who has the most money? I don't think rims, commands, car modifications should ever cost any kind of money, but find other ways to spend it. Sure you can lose money by betting on the wrong person but the only real use for money would be to spend it on something useful and betting doesn't really give you anything other than more money, it's kinda like having too much money in single player San Andreas, there's just nothing to spend your money on and it's meaningless. I'd like to see a /casino command, that will teleport you to a casino where you can waste your money, but again, what else can you spend your money on after that? There isn't much, and I think the gamemode should stay free, you're basically implementing a kind of RPG element to AX if you add a lot of ways to spend money on. It's a racing mode, and it should stay free and open to everyone. Maybe just make the money display show your actual racing score, or something else like races finished, or how many times you've placed 1st, this might actually make it useful and add a bit of competition and encourage good racing if you're being rewarded points for good racing, something like that.

Money is bugged, it just resets to something around zero for me sometimes.. I had 6million before the last time now like 60k haha, I don't really care about it cause I think money is a bitch and should not be introduced on the server the way it is in RP servers.

In a game where your car changes every race, upgrading it is pointless.
It works for NFS because you can keep the car for future race. Unless you could have a personal garage with modded cars
or something, then it would be kind useful. But even then theres like 2 choices in mods so there is no point lol.

What about new type of races with custom cars? Player has own car and can upgrade/downgrade it for money. For example I have Tourismo and I can upgrade it to Infenus or downgrade it to Bullet. I pay 500$ for every upgrade and get 250$ for every downgrade. Upgrade system might based on upgrade tree with branches like -bikes -offroad -sportcars etc. For example:

Sounds like a good idea, although I'm against the people with more money having an advantage. Then again, you could always downgrade to get a little cash, which kinda makes up for it. It'd be better if it costs $500 to upgrade and you get $500 for upgrading, though,

I think cosmetic mods should not cost money, but should be exclusive to people with 2,000+ points to make them more special.
Houses/properties/owned cars/stunt/myitem privileges can be money-based.

Level 1 cadrona vs level 70 turismo wont be real good :L But this opens a new door through, make a whole-server change and get it into racing RPG.Challenges and unlockables like in MW2 and leveling system on the same way. :L :P no way

Also, /afk is for people who are away afrom their keyboard (duh), so giving them cars would be pointless when you can just use /stunt or something to drive around in.

Lets hope this new money system doesn't annoy players.
It's still being finished, but a quick test today should see if it's worth keeping.
You can't buy items (helmets/myitem/fighting) if you don't have enough money, but you can repair your vehicle and fix yourself, this will then go into negative figures ( £-499 ).
Lets see.

it's far too annoying, and not good for new players, sure maybe have paintjobs and stuff, everything that is for show, but not something as important as flip, vr or /nc. These should be a given.

noobs don't use them anyway, stick a help bar in their faces and it still doesn't work
and /nc and /vr is important so make it important.

the help bar isn't very helpful tbh. it doesn't say what the commands actually do and on their own the only one that is logically named is /repair. i've seen noobs do .repair a few times which shows me they actually do read the help bar but if their car flips over then they probably have no idea what to do.
it's like if i went on a new server and the help bar said STUNTING COMMANDS: /ou /p /xj /repair. almost entirely useless.
probably offtopic for this thread but i think we really need to develop a smarter way of helping people tbh. atm we just tell them the short versions of commands but if we were smart about it, we could tell the long version of commands when they need them. for example, we could check their health and it goes below a certain amount we could put an announcement on their screen that says /VEHICLEREPAIR [/VR]. check if they have a car and if they don't put an announcement for them that says /NEWCAR [/NC]
they may not be using all the commands now but we don't need to be actively discouraging them. we should be doing all we can to make sure we're telling them the command they need, when they need it

I read the arguments, but buying and repairs did let you spend money you don't have (Labour style).

Its good see some improvements on server,from my point of view new car flip and repair should cost some and that not touch me much cause almost never using them same as other skilled racers,but yesterday i saw non skilled racers=noobs going in huge minus easy with AXP.So some changes are needed for sure

I totally agree with this. :) But still I don't think money adds anything to the server..
Why not first fix the bug that someones money dissapears every now and then? Happens to me sometimes lol..

Brilliant idea if you ask me. Context sensitive help would be great.
