No matter what software you use on laptop it will always load way slower than PC.

You can stop or disable all unwanted services in your Windows 7 but that won't help you much to improve boot speed or even it will make boot up slower cause there is hidden problem in your system-and nobody know why and where.....

Only one useful trick is put your laptop in hibernate state when you are done with usual activities instead of shutting down system.

There is nothing about PCB,coolers or memory i would say its total opposite in case with small brands.Quality of their products is equal or sometime even better than quality of 'Big players'

They have no space to gamble with quality of their products,if they are about to make name in Europe or America since 99% of whole hardware comes from Asia.

So only way to make good deal is keep good quality and earn customers with as much as possible lower price which is often 20% cheaper than price of well known brands...

well , they're cheaper just because they use cheaper components  ;)

and then good luck with an eventually RMA. ;)

Why people generalize their opinion about some brand, based on one or two bad review what they read on internet?

I am not defending any brand, but saying in public they are cheaper cause they use cheaper components is ridiculous.

There are strong standards what every brand must follow if they are about to sell video card with ATI's/Nvidia logo.
If they doing opposite they going down in very short period.

Anyway won't go much into details with that,2nd part of message is more interesting...

If even come to RMA why is that big deal?
Do you believe that doesn't happens with brands such as Asus,Sapphire,MSI or others.

Most people suggest Asus as some goddess product with won't let you down, what if tell you in past 10 years since i am working with hardware they got equal of faulty products same as other brands such as MSI which ain't popular much now days or Powercolor.

Just their policy and marketing were done better and you didn't read much of bad reviews cause 0.3% of whole series RMA

VTX is Powercolor, aka TUL Corporation there is nothing bad with them...For sure they ain't popular as Asus,Saphire or Gigabyte but price is of their cars is often 20% cheaper which is good offer since warranty is exactly same or even longer what gives brands above  ;)

Asus,Gigabyte,VTX -3  years warranty
Saphire,MSI,etc -2  years warraty

Maybe I should get the new 7790, balanced between the 7770 and the 7850 for £120 and an i5

7770/7790 aren't worth laying in i5 machine...

If your monitor show no signal message  there is fault with video card.

Weak PSU or faulty PCI-E slot on motherboard could result video card stop responding too...

GPU idle temp doesn't means anything cause video card has it self VRam whose temperature/stability you can't test

So my suggestion is to borrow from friend or from 2nd PC video card in whose stability you are sure 100% to test PC in general,if everything works smooth you know what caused problems,if crashes remain there is PSU and in worst scenario Motherborad.

yeah me too having same issue running high end games like BF3, Crysis 2, AC Revelations, in which right beginning of the game my GPU temp suddenly increase from 50 Degree Celsius to 100!! then it will crash my PC... Sending "No Signal" message to my monitor....

Quote
Fixed my problem regarding with the sudden Temp. increase with my GPU.. I just removed the dust out of it and re-apply a thermal paste..... and now it`s GOOD and running smoothly.. with high-end games on NEAR Ultra setting only at 70-78 Degree Celsius.... ;) THANK GOD....!

But if you are out of experience how to clean dust and re-apply thermal paste i would contact shop where you bought that card to let them fix problem for you  ;)

Since card is still in warranty period i guess it won't cost much, just coupe euro....depend how they treat customers

It is shader fault often happens when video card is overclocked with unstable settings or if is set on stock settings problem cause high temperature...

Try buy/borrow some cheap video card and test in your machine i think art-effect will gone and exception error too

Off-Topic / Re: Playing VLC on TV
« on: February 15, 2013, 04:35:44 pm »
Thought I'd post here instead of starting a new thread.

I'm trying to play movies on my TV by connecting it to my PC. It works, I can see my PC playing on my TV, except when I use VLC, it just shows a blank screen, like when you try to take a screenshot and when you paste it it is just a black screen.

How can I fix that? Do I need a plugin or something for VLC? Thanks.

There is definitely problem with software what you using, since you have picture on both source TV and monitor.
I am not huge fan of VLC but seems there is overlay problem in settings.

try this
-> Go to Tools->Preferences->Video
-> Remove the tick for "Accelerated video output (Overlay)"
-> Try and play the movie again, you should now see output.

if that still doesn't make success my suggestion is to install BS player or some similar software they are more friendly to now days media files  ;)
