Suggestions / New TV Mode

Ever wanted the camera to follow the player/vehicle? Like actually track his position, without a twitchy camera updating every second?

Well now, we can (I think).

I was trying to use a few options spectate has always had, I tried SPECTATE_MODE_FIXED and wondered why the view was on SF Garage (where we get sent while race is changing).

It's because SPECTATE_MODE_FIXED uses the last known setting for Camera Pos. It should make TV a lot better, nothing worse than TV being focused on a building.

Bug Reports / Muted on server restart

Sometimes after a restart, a player is muted.  I know we can't talk for 15 seconds, but sometimes if we do talk, we arn't unmuted.

I couldn't figure out where the bug comes from.

Hi mooman, when you get time the forum has a few problems:

Downloading attached files doesn't work, it gives us an index.php link
I removed a post with a temp server I.P, but the post above it was removed.
People mark topics as read, much it doesn't work.
Mosca said smileys didn't appear for him. :L   O0  :police: They might work for everyone else though
(Smileys work for me)

Suggestions / Suggestions (Pre 0.3d Release)

0.3d will be released soon, we'd like to know what you would want to see added.  Check Karlip's  '0.3d Changes to Script' to get a good idea of what's now possible with the new features.

Please keep this 0.3d suggestions only, any other suggestions should be posted as normal in it's own topic.
  • Sprite Textdraws - Poker
  • Sounds - Sound played when you hit another player in GTAIV
  • Remove Buildings - Remove a few fences to create extra routes

Off-Topic / Goodbye AdrenalineX

Today is my last day on the Internet. They've cancelled the internet so I won't be able to play untill I either find a job, or my brother returns home and pays for it.

I'm not very active these days due to home problems, but I still like to chat with you all as I feel I've made a good few internet friends who I will miss.  I'm busting my balls to find employment, more now that ever. Hopefully this will be a short period of time, but it's hard to judge.

I'd just to thank you all for being friendly, helping me out when I needed it and enjoying AdrenalineX as much as I enjoyed coding it.

I'm on server today, so you've got plenty of time so say hello and goodbye :P

Off-Topic / UK Riots - What's your opinion?

London has seen some of it's worst riots since the 80's, although the 80's riots were less about robbing their communities. It's now broke out in Liverpool, Bristol (Andy  >:() and even Nottingham.

My friends think it's tottally wrong, we understand times are hard but it's getting out of hand. I just heard on the news, a man has died from a gun shot.

We're a racing community, but I want to hear your opinions? I spoke briefly to a few fellow brits on the server, but the forums the best place to discuss this.

Bug Reports / Race Leaders & Ranking

I've had a few complaunts about the Race Leaders display, also Firefox suggested a better 'Position' tracker (1st, 5th, 9th and so on).

Newly coded position tracker (which also fixes the Race Leaders display).

Still a few bits missing (if 2 people are both on CP 2, we need to work out who is ahead).

Any problems, post the here.

My sisters had a break in, all the christmas toys are stolen. Sad day for sure.

AdrenalineX Development / To Do List [04/11/10]

As some of you might know, I'll be without internet soon for an unknown duration. Fingers crossed it ain't too long, I need my fix.

I understand we have a bugs and suggestions board, but with limited time I don't think a lot of the suggestions are possible for me to do, so i'll leave them for future development (either by pod or mooman).

If you think of anything minor/major that needs doing, post it here as it help me fix it into my time with the internet.

1.  Duel [playerid] [cash]  - Total fix of this bugged option.
2.  SK buildmode uses normal buildmode menu - Needs fixing.
3.  Translate new text  - Some new code doesn't use the translate code.
4.  Player weapon only spawns after they die - Needs fixing.
5.  Lap counter doesn't update - Needs fixing.
6.  Birdeye TT race seems bugged
7.  Recode trailer spawning, seems off

Anyone thing you feel needs doing, just post and ask.
(Also this is a reminder for things you've asked me to do, but I haven't got round to. I'm not ignorant, but my memory is pretty bad lol

Suggestions / NOTICE: Script changes

This isn't due to lack of effort, it's mainly based on a quote by mooman.  He mentioned it's hard to really understand what does what in the script, I agree with him, it's all over the place. Bits of stunt code here, bits of buildmode code there.
With that being said, I've recoded a majority of AdrenalineX, very similar to the way MTA works, resources. I'll be test running it this morning on the main server.
Hopefully things will be faster, the new grid seems to be working wonders on speed and CPU usage.
The main goal was to make it easier for pod, mooman and me to add new stuff to the mode without worrying about upsetting the other code (let's be fair, we've seen a few bugs in our time at AdrenalineX). The theory is, when someone suggests something, we can quickly add it to the resource in question (stunt, buildmode, afk, tv etc).

Bug Reports / Freeze and Unfreeze [Not Bugged]

Evening dudes, only a tiny problem I tried to fix but it could cause problems (Did testing, but with so much code it's possible to cause problems).

GTAIV Races could get bugged if the player presses H. Only way to fix it was not to freeze the passengers, tricky to get it right, but I think I've nailed it.
  • Passengers are not frozen on grid.
  • Passengers will die if they exit vehicle while the race is starting

Just an alert, I'd hate for players to get banned cause they were unfrozen at the starting countdown :P
Or, get records :P
