You mean instead of the voting system we have now? Cos if so we may as well scrap voting altogether and have a random race each time
EVEN BETTER if we get em randomly. Lottery type all the way. U vote for a number instead of a racename. And u find out what race won after its loaded only.
Is there even any point to voting then? Just let the server choose the race.
I think completely random races mixed with race buying is a good system. If you are worried about Long SKs you can just make the price dependent on (race duration)^2 (meaning eg. a race that is twice as long costs 4 times as much to buy) or have a max. time, or discounts/penalties for certain modes. To prevent too many races being bought you could make the price dependent on the number of races bought in the past week by some adjustable scaling factor. If people are buying too much, the price will go up until that isn't the case.
Of course, as always, I am full of ideas but not the will to implement them. But there could be help with that problem soon.

At the moment 2329 of 6978 races (33%) in racemode are TT which I agree is too much. I've disabled the TT grid setting for new races in buildmode so the percentage can only go down now as new races are made. I think converting them en masse to merge and ghostmode is kind of an imperfect solution: so many old records would be broken as ghostmode allows faster records (person in front of you crashes into a lamp, you go through them both without slowing down). Maybe we could try it for some races though as a trial, if the race creator requests it.
