Title: Vehicle Special Abilities and Features

This could be useful for someone, maybe helps in making races/selecting vehicles for it, or just general having fun with SA.
Anyway server got huge lags while I'm typing this, and I'm bored, so enjoy.

List contains vehicles that got special abilities not common for every other, let me know if you got more.

italic - only for single player GTA SA

Ambulance - can be used for ambulance missions
Andromada - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle, can open rear gate and carry many people.
AT-400 - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle

Baggage - along with Utility Van, can tow airport trailers
Banshee - best accelerating road legal RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) car
Bloodring Banger - got no doors or glass windows, you can hop in it through window frame
BMX - jumps, that can be used to access intresting areas or low rooftops

Broadway - can be used for pimp missions
Brown Streak - along with Freight, can be used for train missions
Bullet - lowest vehicle in game, along with Kart, can be used to access low areas (SF airport tollgate or LV rocks, fences etc), road legal RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) car

Cabbie - along with Taxi, can be used for Taxi missions
Caddy - almost always gets back on wheels after every flip
Clover - along with Previon and Feltzer is only car that has speedometer on dashboard
Coach - cops can't arrest you by opening doors
Combine - can cut people
Comet - if it is empty, player hops in it without opening doors
Cop Cars - fastest 4 door car,
can be used for police mission
Cropduster - pressing 2 allows you to spray pesticides

Dozer - movable scoop can be raised and lowered, can climb very step hills, got rear axle turning
Dumper - movable bed

Euros - only vehicle with glass sunroof

FCR-900 - along with PCJ-600, fastest road legal bike
Feltzer - along with Clover and Previon is only car that has speedometer on dashboard
Firetruck - along with SWAT Tank, can 'fire' a stream of water,
can be used for firetruck missions
Flatbed - fastest normal truck in game
Forklift - can be used to lift or raise crates, people or vehicles, got rear axle turning
Freeway - can be used to access Area 69 military base

Freight - along with Brown Streak, can be used for train missions

Hotdog - you can buy hotdog from parked one
Hotknife - only fully custom hotrod in game
Hotring, Hotring A, Hotring B - the fastest RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) car
HPV-1000 - can be used for police missions
Hunter - fastest helicopter, fire rockets and gunfire, can be used for police missions
Hydra - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle, can move vertical or 'freeze' in air, fire rockets and flares

Infernus - fastest car and legit land vehicle in game

Kart - lowest vehicle in game, along with Bullet, can be used to access low areas (SF airport tollgate or LV rocks, fences etc)

Leviathan - along with Sea Sparrow, can land on water

Monster, Monster A, Monster B - along with Quad, doesn't slow down on railroads (can keep top speed, unlike mostly vehicles), wheels can't be popped, both axles turning
Mountain Bike -  fastest bicycle

NRG-500 - fastest bike, best accelerating and (with bugging) fastest land vehicle

Packer - got movable ramp, can be used to access areas
PCJ-600 - along with FCR-900, fastest road legal bike
Premier - fastest normal 4 door car
Previon - along with Clover and Feltzer is only car that has speedometer on dashboard

Quad - along with Monsters, doesn't slow down on railroads (can keep top speed, unlike mostly vehicles)


Ranger - can be used for police missions
RC Bandit - along with RC Tiger, got no collision, making it 'ghost mode vehicle'
RC Baron - aling with RC Goblin and RC Raider, can fly in unlyable for normal planes and helicopters, areas or heights (for example Liberty City)
RC Goblin - aling with RC Baron and RC Raider, can fly in unlyable for normal planes and helicopters, areas or heights (for example Liberty City)
RC Raider - aling with RC Baron and RC Goblin, can fly in unlyable for normal planes and helicopters, areas or heights (for example Liberty City)
RC Tiger - along with RC Bandit, got no collision, making it 'ghost mode vehicle'
Rhino - movable turret, can shot, wheels can't be popped,
can be used for police missions
Roadtrain - fastest rig truck
Rustler - fastest proppeler plane, can shot

Savanna - can perfrom wheelie stand, exhaust pipe is paintable when stock
Sea Sparrow - along with Leviathan, can land on water, can shot
Shamal - along with other jets, fastest legit vehicle
Squalo - fastest boat and (with bugging) vehicle
SWAT Tank - along with Firetruck, can 'fire' stream of water


Taxi - along with Cabbie, can be used for Taxi missions
Tornado - lowest suspension, can perform scrapping/dragging from rear
Tow Truck - can tow vehicles
Tractor - can tow trailers or vehicles
Turismo - best accelerating car

Utiliy Van - along with Baggage, can tow airport trailers

Vortex - can be used in any area, land water and air gliding

ZR-350 - headlights pop-up in night

1st Gear Boost
2nd Gear Boost
Offroad Ability 2 (installing Offroad Wheels on the vehicle give Offroad Ability 1)

1st Gear Boost - not sure, but something like 'more power at low speed' or just VERY grippy start (Cadrona, Landstalker, Greenwood)

2nd Gear Boost - this one gives more power at higher speeds, once car starts rolling, best example Sabre. Slow start with wheelspin, but later kicks in

Offroad Ability 2 (installing Offroad Wheels on the vehicle give Offroad Ability 1) - vehicle acts better on sand or other very soft offroad areas, while offroad ability 1 is for dirt roads or other solid offroad

Hidraulic none - cant have hydraulics, or even if it got, they have no effect (Dozer, Dumper, Monster, Duneride etc..)

Halogen Lights - not sure, maybe brigther lights, needs checking.. some ppl also said few cars have more 'blue' lights

Proc Rear First - no idea

Use Max Speed - vehicle cant go faster than value set in 'TOPSPEED' but seems like doesnt work or is used only for slow vehicles (Dumper, Monsters, Duneride... they all go max 110, Forklift, Sweeper, Mower, all go 60

Swinging Chassis - some cars have shaking ass, like Buffalo, Sabre etc. this flag means these cars

Hi MadMax, sorry to bother you again, but some people I know are discussing wheter Hotring A & B have a different handling than the normal Hotring Races. One says that the have the same handling line so they should be the same. The other says that he can notice a difference when driving it. Since you are the guy that seems to know best about this, I wanted to ask you your opinion. We are interested in this answer because there is a guy who found a way woth get both Hotring without using cheats, so we are insterested in knowing if they are really special or just have a different look.

Hotrings definitely have different handlings... Maybe it's not such a big difference, but it still is.

They all 3 use same HANDLIG.CFG lines. Any diffrences come from their model.

Hotring got longest wheelbase, Hotring A - shortest. Diffrent places and mass turns on model.

FPS Limiter on using in-game's settings. That's how San Andreas is meant to be played.

20 fps for water vehicles, 40 for air vehicles are the best settings (if I'm not wrong).

23/24 for water, air, land. vehicles reach the highest speeds at extacly 24 fps. No more, no less.

Yeah, but that's good only for drag races, while in town races higher fps is better for better turning, right?

Not really, if you try to drive a Elegy with the fpslimiter at 24 it's like driving a Sultan lol.

Yep, and Infernus becomes oversteering. Banshee is nearly uncontrolable.

Less bumpy after jumps or so ye, but they tend to bump MORE when passing walkways or small uneven roads.
Best example, take Banshee, pass walkway edges at 100 frames or at 30. It will bounce more.

I recently found out that the ice-cream truck "Mr Whoope" has a nice jingle, when you hold down H. Also the roof decorations on top looks like a penis, while the ice-cream truck looks like boobs. hehe ;D

Check this out, this guy found a way to improve vehicles handling using a trick in the mission Customs Fast Track, he observed that will work on all bikes, but he can`t notice much of a change on almost all cars. But you guys might find interesting driving those vehicles with a super handling (he compared this with that Super Angel that is available on Vice City):
