yeah, it only really made progress when r was internet-less and i was doing the coding. i tried implementing a proper language system so that everything could be translated after that but i couldn't get it to work and no one else seemed to care :(

Script is massive, too much text puts me off attempting if. Needs to be done though, I want to.

Just gotta get it done quick, test it to see if it handles ok.
Just don't fancy linking all the text, then to find out it's to much of a resource hog

Script may be massive, and i have no idea how it is structured (messy i guess :p ) but surely the only bit you need to worry about is the bit in /help?

Then just add a command that admins can use called /givehelp ID that opens the help up on a users screen so they can then read themselves (in case they don't understand us telling them they need to type in /help)

Or what you could do it find the 2nd largest language on samp by IP connections and code that and then get a racer to help you find all the important bits that need translating. Once it works for 1 other language, look at doing the others?

i'd be happy to help with replacing text with references (or whatever they're called)

if we could have a text file for every language and then we gave each text file to one of our admins who's fluent in that language, i think we could quickly have it done. together with the country detector thing and a menu that lets people choose the language from their local language(s) or english, i'm sure we'd have wayyy more players. i don't think text files really use resources.

examples:

English.txt:
Code: [Select]
1=Hello %s!
etc

French.txt
Code: [Select]
1=Bonjour %s!
etc

then when someone joins the %s would (hopefully) get replaced with their name.

Nearly 5,000 posts Ush  :P

Loading from a file, 1 line at a time, for all, does seem a bit too much.  I would load the files you mentioned, for each country. Store to an array. The menu you mentioned, but give values of 0-6 (total languages support). Label it COUNTRY_ID

Then... this is the long pain the arse bit... give each SendClientMessage(, all dialog text an increase value.
TEXT_D

SecondClientMessage( player, colour, getArrayText[ COUNTRY_ID ] [ TEXT_D ]

It's big.

I think so, I'll try it with the main text, see how handles. Don't really want to edit too much, just in case
