Technically, it is a topic to introduce yourself lol

Technically yeah, but it has devolved into a topic where people can talk about their day if they want to at this stage lol. Which I think is fine really if you think about it, you introduce yourself and your hobbies/interests, the topic is bound to go off topic if you are going to talk about stuff like that, people can still introduce themselves in the middle of all the conversations.
