Wrong, it's called a bulb shot. It allows you to have extended light exposure by keeping the shutter pressed, creating nice effects ;)

Here's an example I made:


They're quite fun to make too lol. I might go out and do some bulb shots in the city when I have time :L who knows I might spot a nice car and do a nice one on it :D

Step 1: Turn on camera.
Step 2: Adjust shutter speed to BULB.
Step 3: Place camera in a tripod or on top of clothes (anywhere where it wouldn't move).
Step 4: Focus and keep the shutter pressed,
Step 5: While shutter is pressed, get a flash light and draw out the letters of "Hi" in-view of the lens just as you would on a piece of paper.
Step 6: Let go of shutter and jizz.
