Yesterday a friend of mine next door gave me a Dell 8200 Dimension,But there was a problem that I couldn`t solve,It was this at computer start up -Diskette Drive 0 Seek Failure,I tried everything I could in the Bio settings,I did these moves I read by people on my google research -Boot into the BIOS using [F2] Hold alt+f, alt+e, alt+b After the beeping stops [ALT] B
It forces the BIOS to reset and re-recognize the drives.and also some people are saying this -Dell systems work better on Cable select.Try setting it like that, with the master drive on the black connector, and the slave drive on the grey connector. It should work out like that. After you've done that, go into your BIOS, and light up the NumLock, CapsLock, and ScrollLock lights on your keyboard. Hold <Alt>+F, then hit <Alt>+E. After it stops beeping, hit <Alt>+B, and this will restart your system. That procedure sets your BIOS back to defaults, and it should force the system to redetect all of the IDE drives.Still nothing works,So anyone out there have pc brain then by all means then help me out here before I waste my money taking it to the shop.btw here are two pics of what my Dell looks like -

headphone jack

i just take the cmos battery out of the motherboard and leave it for a few minutes, then put it back in and everything is reset.

also, why not take your old hdd out of your other pc and put it in the one that's been given to you, worth a try.

safer than taking out the battery, on the pic above u can see the jumper, 3 pins, a cover that takes 2 of em. take out the cover and place it so it covers the middle and the pin that was uncovered, that restarts the bios, now place it back were it was and now ur bios should be default

yah, the bios jumper works better and faster than putting out the bios battery. i had to do it myself a few days ago

Back on topic, I've had this error for ages actually, exact same one, but it doesn't effect me at all, I just have to press F1 every time I start my computer. If there is a way to fix it, I guess I'll try, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Lets back on topic.
Problem is with flopy drive.
Well what problem should be.
1.Flopy diskete is still in drive-Remove it if still is in
2.Drive is broken.
Solution for that is
*Restart Bios,people already told you how to make that
if still doesnt help you try find Flopy drive part in your bios program and setup to OFF or DISABLE
or easy way because i saw you already have open desktop case.
*Unplug power wire from Flopy drive,also flopy drive cable from motherboard and from drive.
Thats it for now.

Anyway,
Cmon guys stop that fuckin useless fight over forum.
Usher's spam on every topic remind me Ezra since XR(but Ezra is way better now and become mature) forum,Andy and Knutico fighting everywhere.

Same here, it appeared when I reinstalled windows. I never had a fucking floppy drive so why is windows looking for one anyhow, LOL.

These folders are created when you run chkdsk or possibly another disk checking utility. When errors are found such as lost clusters on your drive, Windows will fix the errors but depending on whether or not you chose to convert lost clusters or chains to file, windows will create these folders sequentially starting with .000. So you may have several of them.

Inside of those folders you may find files named File0000.chk, File 0001.chk etc. Thes file are creatd to save any lost data during the chkdsk fix. You can examine those files with a text editor to see if they contain any data that is important. If not, you can delete them.
