Since every blu-rays are on max 1080p, it's waste of money to buy this 4K.

it's not for movies or games, but mostly for multitasking (if the monitor is big too, though). 4k is like two or three monitors in one without the inconvenience associated with them.
also, the argument of no movies supporting it yet was exactly the same with 1080p before, you may not need it, but don't look down to people who do, by that they are making sure everyone gets it sooner.

4K is going to be a mainstream resolution soon. For now I only have 1440x900 (17 inch wide) :L
