most of games use still just ONE or TWO cores ( and it is borrrrrring for quads) if u overclock your quad that should gain your FPS on each game. For most games your Quad is worth nothing more than standard Core 2 Duo :P or Athlon X2 (this is sad true )

Why not overclocking hardware if you are advanced user?
With overclock sometimes you get faster performance on same piece of hardware but you should know how to do that.It is not easy find limit of components.
People killing their processors, video cards and sometime ram memories cause of wrongfully setup their hardware. Its not all put FSB in bios on higher number what you read on some forum-page whose did somebody with similar hardware as you own or messing with clock on video card or what is worst timing on ram memory...
To get good overclock sometime you need few hours sometime few days but most people are too lazy for that.
Very important thing on overclock is temperature. While you overclocking your hardware temperature rise so you should know how to handle that.
If you want get limit of hardware you must have great cooling system or if you are stuck with stock cooling follow temperature don't let hardware fail cause of overheat.
Plenty of components now days have own overheat protector, but still component die if running most of time near that limit.

More about overclock soon
