I was using it on a seperate partition. It looks fine though some apps needs compatibility. I went back to 7 because I do not think it is my time to upgrade.

I heard about subscription after one year of free using. Is that true?

that's not true.

nothing i would really need, but some of the features are nice.

I don't really like the new interface - it's even flatter than windows 8, and some options are really dumbed down (why transparency must be an on/off option, and not a slider, and why can we pick from just 48 colors is beyond my understanding), plus taskbar is smaller, but others might like it.

also, some things are still broken - for example, the two different control panels.

all in all, it was probably worth it, but mostly because it will be needed in the future, and you don't really lose anything. I had no problems whatsoever upgrading from 8.1, all programs, their configurations, files and settings remained.

I tried installing my download, but it stayed stuck forever in the first loading screen.

Then tried installing through the site, but I had to redownload the W10.. so I decided to stay with W7 for now, and try installing W10 later.

installed in less than an hour (40 mins aprox.)

It is even faster than  Win 7 (having a SSD  of course helps a lot.)

I couldn't be  more happy.

so far so good, 2 out of 3 computers done, gonna need a whole day for the last one, works only on battery (motherboard issues) so I have to make a part, when it restarts shut it down, recharge, do another part, repeat. On the upgraded computers runs great, one had W7 hacktivated and worked just fine, original install, activated
I would much rather be hated for what I am than loved for something that I'm not

I'm having a problem with my start menu/task bar from time to time. Basically, after a while it doesn't work. Can't open the start menu, can't open time or wifi stuff. Only buttons that work are programs that are already open on the task bar.

Has this happened for anyone else or is it just my laptop?

EDIT: I realise desktop icons don't work either. It must be a problem with explorer.exe. Probably just my laptop, so annoying. Think it happens after it goes to sleep.

Updated yesterday, was done from first click to finished in 16 minutes (SSD ftw).

First impression is good, we will see the next weeks where this goes.

a week ago i got that problem , i resolved doing this :

Open Windows PowerShell as Administrator

    Right click Start button
    Choose Command prompt (Admin)
Key in Powershell in the black window and hit Enter

Paste the following command in the Administrator: Windows PowerShell window and press Enter key:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Wait for PowerShell to execute and complete the command. Ignore the few errors (in red color) that may pop up.
When it finishes, try hitting Start and hopefully it’ll start working.

Great operating system, I would recommend it. Runs GTA SA/SAMP perfectly with no issues for.

unstable and crashy, sometimes freezes and got problems with many older programs and games, only good thing is that it's very quick, but W7 on SSD is quick enough so no matter much.

W10 is too fresh to judge now, i wouldnt recomment getting it right now, but if you have 2 computers then can give a try
