My PC reboot while im playing games
« on: June 07, 2014, 01:29:25 pm »
hi,

I'm experiencing issue with my computer.

firstly, the computer turned in save mode automaticaly and i had to turn back on game pressing a key or moving mouse (SAMP color were very stranger too - like gasoil rainbow colors)

now, PC , just reboot alone - generally after 30 min gaming.

Any idea of what it could be?
motherboard? GPU? CPU RAM? Power supply? fans?

is it overheating?
i downloaded OCCT to monitore  temperatures but i dont have any idea about what they should be - i just notice that when testing the power supply, TMPIN0 reaches 85°C in few minutes.

Help would be welcome

here under my components

It seems like you monitored CPU/motherboard temperatures, not GPU, which is the cause, as you get graphical artifacts(the rainbow things).
Get "MSI afterburner", it has temperature monitoring for most GPUs.
You can also use their bundled "msi on-screen display server" which shows gpu and memory usages, temperatures and few other things while in game, and monitor that closely when you start getting those artifacts. If the temperature doesn't go over 90C before you get a reboot or artifact, it is most likely either insufficient PSU power, or faulty GPU. In that case, try to borrow other PSU's or at least underclock the GPU and check again.

Certainly a possibility, but i don't see how can you claim it for sure.
Plus going to service just to clean dust is not even nearly needed, as others already said.

Sounds bizarre...but not all people are capable to change even bulb, some don't care or they have no time for that so they contact people who could do that for them.

Can of compressed air not cost much but are you sure it will 100% solve his problems???
What if fan is damaged or doesn't reach enough RPM after you simple remove dust as you suggest?

Maybe you didn't noticed yet after 6 years here, when is matter about PC hardware i am trying to always give correct answer. Over 10 years of experience with hardware i have so i am pretty sure i wouldn't ever suggest someone something silly as you guys wrote above.

Some companies around world put sticker on their desktops if you buying tested and pre-installed system so customers are unable to open case if they want use warranty paper. Similar restriction is with hard-drives video cards etc.  In this case we clearly see that Bootsyou didn't build his PC from ground with his screwdriver and similar tools by asking us for help.

I know what i am talking about hardware, so Boots contact service or shop where you bought PC, 20-30 euros isn't big money but it will solve your problems. And for sure spare from headache...
