TL;DR- New SA-MP version incoming. New stuff!

EDIT: They seem to have left out a bugfix; Objects should not disappear any more when high in the air with a vehicle.

Wonder what this will mean, if it will be a big improvement or not.. I doubt it.

It could reduce ping a bit and make gameplay somewhat smoother. Might be unnoticeable though.

Bugfixes are always welcome, the preview looks good and once streamer is updated the stream distance could be made dynamic too, but may you excuse me, this doesn't really seem like a much of progress in a year  :(

he didn't say a word about supporting better object loading, so there may not be any improvement on that, just max distance is increased.

Do you think making a topic about it on the SA:MP forums would have any effect? Maybe there would be some way for us to unite and lobby for it.

Given the way SA:MP already swaps textures (e.g. clean cars) and forces certain default files, it shouldn't be a difficult feature for them to implement at all. It would just be a case of making SA:MP download the handling.cfg/vehicles.ide before starting gtasa.exe. It could download it to the /SAMP/ folder and compare filesize every connect to save you having to re-download it every time you join the server.

Overhauling certain vehicles (e.g. Vincent, Sentinel, Nebula) to sports versions would be sweeeet.

Probably not, however it can't hurt to try.
Pyrofox did a similar approach awhile back, it got a good responce from the players, but apart from a few moderator comments, we didn't get anywhere.  Ghost mode was the suggestion.

works for any map, if we have some way to determine what is max safe distance for them, there's no difference between the maps except the cities are default.

During testing, we had some problems with the view distance and it crashed on quite some maps, that's why it's not implemented yet.
