Windows 8
« on: October 05, 2012, 01:03:37 pm »
hi
if you want test windows 8 or see how it looks you can use it for free for 90 days with Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation
you can download it (legally) from microsoft page:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj554510.aspx
i recommend using some virtualizing program like VMware Player or VM VirtualBox cause its easier than normal way
btw. i'm using VMware Player

in applications its one big mess so if you have pc stay with vista/7 but for tablets windows 8 is ok
you can switch views normal (like in win 7) and metro (like on my pic) with window button :)
it took me 2 minutes to figure out how to get back to start menu :L

Theres no excuse to stay in xp as win 7 is superior in every way, unless pc just can't run it or you can't buy it, but yeah, unless win 8 turns out to be super-stable and fast and my win 7 breaks down i won't be switching, UI looks just stupid in big screens, worst space management I've seen.

This tablet/smartphone road they're taking will not be good, as MANY people will stay on Windows 7. Windows 8 will possibly only get attention at launch, then die slowly.

Win 8 version for ARM(smartphone & tablet processors), not desktop CPUs. It doesn't stand for anything officially according to wiki.
Its not Win phone 8 though, thats totally different OS.
