for bmx, bigger is better i find, you can go alot faster  :D

its the same speed because your back rem wheel is smaller to. but for skatepark u got smaller because when is bigger then 25t u cant ride down the big ramp without jumping in cose u hit it with your BIG chainwheel.
25tooth rings are made for bmxing when you go up steep ramps or do big rails.with a stock chainwheel sometimes hits the ramp or rail but not with a smaller chain wheel like a 25t.
