ok so as few of you might know, I'm looking forward working in Canada this summer for 3 months, found a job in British Columbia a few hours away from Vancouver (it's not 100% sure I'll be able to go yet, I won't know until at least 2 more months but normally it's OK).
Hopefully somebody will be able to answer some of my questions, not many Americans here and even less Canadians (maybe no Canadians at all).
My main concern was about getting a car. Car rental is way too expensive (seems that finding one for less than 500$ a month would be a miracle and that's already too much). Leasing has way more decent price but apparently it's not really for a few months, mostly for a year or more. So I'm thinking I may as well buy some Japanese late 80s/early 90s car, corolla or whatever for less than a grand, whether in Canada (BC) or USA (Washington State/Seattle) so is it easy for a foreigner who won't stay there more than 4months to buy a car, and insure it for USA+Canada? And how much would the insurance cost, what registration or other stuffs would I have to do...
Oh and btw, I have a french driver's licence, for 2 years.
I had a lot of other questions but can't remember much atm...
