6pm UK time is 19h GMT +1 :P

I don't know why you have abandoned that idea.
I expected all the races to start at that time. IMO it's the best option because you'd have got a whole day for yourselves and race in the evening.
What we have now is: DDDAAAAAYYYYYY, the race, pointless ~4 hours before sleep.
As for me, Sundays became days I cannot undertake any serious activities because the race starts at 4pm.
But I realise that there are different time zones and we'll have a problem to reach a compromise.
