Hah, starlet, I wish there were Glanza's (Starlet sport version) with LHD driving. But they were only produced RHD.

Still the 323 I drive uses a LOT of gas, it's automatic 3 gears only, about 15L/100KM (unleaded). And when she's cold, she doesn't accelerate, real pain in the ass in winter.

Wow, sounds like you would save a lot of money by buying a newer car: that is way too much petrol (almost as much as an SUV), it must be leaking or something. I get around 6~7 L/KM in my 1.4 C2.

It's just heavy for its size, and old with only 3 gears.

3 gears was common system that ages and there is no problems with that.See they still working after 20 years...Its more about engine cause there is very powerful engine 1.6 or 1.8 more than 100hp and when people have no experience with automatic transmission and due huge traffic in french towns easy touch 15L per 100km also if engine is in bad condition due laziness of people to do proper service on 'old' cars...
Everything what you said above about cold start seems that car 'begging' to visit some service.  ;)
