dude this forum needs a like button XD, but yeah I agree on what moo says, dunno what the law says in NL but generally when you are born in a country your are not an immigrant, even if both your parents are not local (baby born while traveling)

Well there's a Dutch word that doesn't exist in other languages..
Autochtoon, a term in Dutch: a citizen of the Netherlands or Flanders whose parents were (both) born in the Netherlands or Flanders, as opposed to an allochtoon, any persons of whom one or both parents was not born in the Netherlands or Flanders.
That's our definition of someone being a 'indigenous' person of a country. Vertigo would be an allochtoon (One or both of his parents were born in Greece right?)

^ we have the word "autochtone" in french too, used to say "local people", something like that. I think there's the same in english too but unsure...
edit: we should rename the topic to "who can we call an immigrant?"

hm well i guess immigrant and autochtoon aren't really direct translations so my point stands ). english has autochthon but apparently that's for rocks and aboriginal people
