Hi! I'm Ezra. Here's a little glimpse into my life.

This is my laptop:

It plays a major role in my super duper uber very very very complex ninja mega sex death butt rape workflow.

Coming home from my commute with the laptop, I powered it up and to my horror...

eek.

Here's another look.

I edit on the laptop, manage the library on the middle screen, and do other work on the desktop.

This is really pissing me off.

Ugh.

heh, I had a friend who fucked the screen of his laptop exactly like but around the black spot you could only see the basic colours at random and the visible area was less than 50% of the screen.

He told us he accidentally closed the lid while there was a screwdriver over the keyboard and then he heard a crack and opened the lid again to find out, horrified, that he cracked the screen. We mocked him for weeks lol.

Not big problem brand new is around 100 euro,would be harder if he smashed 4:3 that is hard to find.

oo look what I got in the mail.

And here is what I get for 122 dollars, a waste of time. Glad it didn't break during transport though.

On with the disassembly.

Bezel off (this proved to be the most challenging, I think I broke a bit of the plastic lol)

The underside of my broken panel.

And off with the hinges!

Now on with the new panel.

Bit of tape on the display ribbon, nice and tidy.

Mounted.

Bezel on.

Moment of truth.

woo.

This was definitely a waste of money and time, lesson fucking learned.

btw I'm selling a new panel, 14" led, for uh $200. Anyone interested hit me up on pm.

congrats! i'd be pretty scared to try something like that. laptops always have like 500 tiny screws and just seem so fragile
