But still... It doesn't have to look good, have to win races.

Yeah these new design noses are pretty weird but I got nothing against new models and I hope other teams also do different front wings cus they can look cool...

And yeah, Im so glad that Stoffel Vandoorne earned his spot as test driver ( I was hoping for him to get a seat instead of Magnussen but y ).
What is really cool that I actually met Stoffel in FSR (simracing) community  , like 3-4 years ago, and Im happy for his progress and really feels great that maybe I had to chance to talk with an future F1 driver lol :D ...

Who came with the idea that noses should be this low, lol

aerodynamics are probably benefiting from it.
furthermore, i think they look cool just because they bring some fresh air in their heavily standardized cars.
imo, cars that are exactly the same takes away half of the fun.

EDIT: apparently, its bad for aerodynamics, but a safety feature

They are standardized because the FIA doesn't let the teams be innovative!

exactly, and now, when there is some diversity at least in one department - aerodynamics of a nose, you jump right on them...

This nose is this ridicilous because they made a rule that the nose should be a certain distance from the ground. But for the front wing and the rest of the aerodynamics that isn't helpful, so they create these strange noses so it's not that much in the way as it used to be when it's a 'full nose'.

Previous year was similar, with the stepped noses (introduced in 2012) and they got made look nicer in 2013 because they were allowed to 'hide' the step.

Because the longer part is the crashing structure and shorter one works as the mounting part only. More air is getting sucked by having so few front wing parts in front. It's mostly a reason why Lotus had problems passing the safety controls.

And as for me, Ferrari looks the best so far. Vergne confirmed via Twitter that their car has got a "dick" too.

but hmm.. doesn't that mean that the Ferrari sucks less air?

In theory it would but it all depends on the aero package they use as a whole. We will have to wait till the season but keep in mind "the look" may change any time soon.
