UK people eligible to vote in the General Election

At the moment you are right that one vote doesn't relly count depending on where you live, but at least the Lib Dem's are pushing for electoral reform so that 1 vote does count. Have a look here at Propportional Representation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proportional_representation

The way it works at the moment isn't really fair at all, and the main thing people should be pushing for is that. The Lib Dem''s want it as it is a lot fairer, and the Tory's and Labour don't as it will highly likely end the 2 party politics we have seen in the UK for the last 65 years. If it went through it would mean that it is highly unlikey the tories would ever get in power again.
