on january, 23rd i am gonna quit smoking FULL STOP!

no patches, no inhilator, no nothing other than my own will

just thought ide let you know

I've never started and never will maybe because my parents are smoking and i don't want to fuck up my health like they have

They're are also trying to reduce smoking.

The drugs were easy to give up lol (The main reason being my bank balance lol).

Smokes are so easy to get hold of, that's why I could never quit, I'd like to though.....

If you want to stop smoking and don't want top use drugs or anything try Allen Carr (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Allen-Carrs-Easy-Stop-Smoking/dp/014103940X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1263910188&sr=8-1) book.

It costs the same as 20 smokes and helps you condition your mind to not need or want cigarettes. I used it and stopped in Feb 2004 with only one 5 week relapse about 3 years ago. Worst thing that can happen is it doesn't work.

I thought the same, but it did. 80% of smoking is an emotional addiction, 20% physical. The book teaches you the traps you fall in like having a fag with a coffee, or when stressed. It is all about cognitive behaviour therapy. Don't mock it, it works, i am proof.

I never really got addicted despite I tried. Well I had 5-7 cigarettes a day. Some days more(when having a party). Did that for 3 months and stopped in 1 day because I ran out of money lol.

I still smoke every now and while when I feel like. That means on a party, after a joint or when drinking beer.

I didnt really get addicted, sometimes I ran out and cba buy a package for a week or more, so I didnt smoke those days, and it didnt really matter, tbh I smoked 1 cig like 1 month ago, and I dont feel like smoking again in a long time

1 night behind me. I cudnt sleep i was changing t-shirts every 30 minutes about 4am i was out of old t-shirts (sweating)

Good luck M4. I am on day 9 now and still can't sleep. I am way less tired in the mornings weirdly enough, but then smoking stuff used to make me really groggy the next day and now i am clear headed, but tired from not enough sleep.

Stick with it, it will get better. I have given up before and it took about 3 weeks for me to be able to sleep properly. Hopefully it will be less time for you.

Well after a bit of a wine-fuelled wobble I managed to resist last night and this morning feel SO glad that I did. That said it took me a while to get to sleep and I kept waking up. Woke up at 8:20am today and was an hour late for work :S

I think i have reached the point that going to the Dr to get sleeping pills may have to be a short term solution.

NAH weed is not bad when u smoke it sometimes. Its addiction and overthose whats kill u, cose if u learn to smoke it every day, after u learn to smoke it before go to sleep, if u get more addicted u learn to smoke in the morning. Later if u become like me (bong man junkie) u learn to smoke it 4-5 times a day and u stoned 24/7 for years!! U loose motivation to do things (i did). Cose u just wanna just get stoned! so stoned u not iven able to play games, u just can ley on bed, watch TV or tv shows online and your eyes closing and u wake up in the middle of night (computer working) and u eat something and get stoned again in the middle of night.

Yo i just came back from work. Its gonna be mine 4th night without weed ,i was sleeping yesterday 5 hours, feel a lot better, have my dreams back but still pretty crazy ones. I eat more normal food, i dont eat any sweets, have 5x more energy, do more work.
I hope weather will be nice at weekend so i can go to skate park. If not ill be hire playing samp, maybe make a map 4 ya. Im done

I started smoking back in March 2001

I smoked my last cigarette on 8 September 2013 at 9:00am.

The first two days without cigs were fuckin' crazy , i had to drink like 7-8 bottles of water .

Finally the nicotine left my body on third day and since then i don't feel the need to smoke anymore.

i've tried cigarettes while extremely drunk and they seem kind of pointless to me, i don't really see the point if they don't taste nice and you don't get high from it, i know in practice it's not that simple but if you look at it like that it might make quitting easier. i've also pretty much stopped weed as of two weeks ago cos my new girlfriend hates it and i don't really feel the need to do it so it's kind of a waste of money and it makes her pissy if i do it so stopping is a win win.

i've tried cigarettes while extremely drunk and they seem kind of pointless to me, i don't really see the point if they don't taste nice and you don't get high from it, i know in practice it's not that simple but if you look at it like that it might make quitting easier. i've also pretty much stopped weed as of two weeks ago cos my new girlfriend hates it and i don't really feel the need to do it so it's kind of a waste of money and it makes her pissy if i do it so stopping is a win win.

She's very wrong imo, it hasnt been scientifically proved yet that weed has bad effects on brain or any other body part... sooo I can't see any valid reason of pursuing someone to stop smoking it, that's bullshit.

I know people who have smoked weed their whole lives and they are constantly zoned out even when not stoned. It does have a negative effect as you get older. Basically it turns you into a zombie.

For more than a year, I've been smoking only when drinking and I don't feel the need when I'm sober. And there is always time for weed, when there's a good opportunity

Snoopy is right though, people who smoke it all the time change a little, usually they are more relaxed and like if their minds were somewhere else lol

yeah that's true, my mate's dad has smoked weed since his teens and he just always looks zoned out. he's pretty cool and interesting though, lol.
